Hey all,

We bid a fond farewell to Dan (England). I know from personal experience that Dan is an excellent Diplomacy player. In fact, every game I try to predict likely winners, and my predictions favored Dan pretty heavily. A good player has fallen, and he never gave up the fight. Thanks for sticking with us.

The Russians, however, appear to HAVE given up the fight. They have two retreats, but the map and dpy show them disbanded, because my hunch is Greg's done with the game. If not, I'll correct the map. Just be aware that those pieces may not, in fact, be gone as you submit your builds. England also technically has retreats, but he's eliminated come winter, so I auto-disbanded him.

DC 483, Fall due soon - alwayshunted   (Feb 20, 2014, 5:32 pm)
Hi gang,

I have orders from everyone at this point, but I am not going to be running the turn this evening I don't think.  I will send the orders I have to Mike Sims (TD), but if you update anything after right now, PLEASE make sure you send them to the order box, and maybe CC Mike Sims.

If I don't hear back from Mike, expect the turn to go a couple hours late tonight.

Thanks for your patience.

Warren

England gets a bit nasty...

Turkey can retreat to Vienna, or OTB.

Builds...

England builds 3.
Turkey builds 1, or 2 if the retreat is OTB.

The votes on the draws?  They all fail.  There's a potential draw vote already on the cards, but it must be held back until the Spring moves.

Okay, we seem to have three draw proposals to vote upon this season:

1) TGE draw

2) TIE draw

3) TIGE draw

Not voting for a draw = a NO vote for that draw.

Hugh - a fair enough response, trying to salt the G/E alliance.  I
mean, Germany is implicitly inviting Turkey to stab you with the
draw offer.  But before going for a 4-way draw, I think we should
bounce a round or so .  I want to test those front lines of yours!

As Germany is out of position, has but one isolated fleet, and can be easily stabbed by E, Italy would like to propose an E/I/T draw! With Warm Regards!

There's a draw proposal to vote upon with the fall orders: EGT draw, others are survivors.  Vote yes if in favour.  Not voting = a no vote.

dc482 spring 1905 Draw Proposal! (Winter Blitz) waltersm1 Feb 18, 06:55 pm
Hugh - a fair enough response, trying to salt the G/E alliance.  I
mean, Germany is implicitly inviting Turkey to stab you with the
draw offer.  But before going for a 4-way draw, I think we should
bounce a round or so .  I want to test those front lines of yours!

Regards,

Mike

*Russians Hibernate*
*German/French Forces Unite to Take North Sea*
*Oil discovered in Gulf of Lyon, Nations Flock to Seize*

Hey all,

Russia failed to get orders to me in time, so he NMR's. However, little harm done there, since apart from maybe bouncing the German move to Finland, I don't see what else he could have done this season. Apart from a presumed attempt at support-cutting by LVP-EDI, and a protective self bounce by the Germans in Hol, pretty much every move succeeds. Only the Gulf of Lyon sees real conflict. The borders of the former Austrian Empire see a lot of self support. A pretty calm season, really. But I expect the Fall will be a bloody one once more.
No retreats, so see ya Thursday!

German A Tyrolia can retreat to Piedmont, or OTB.

Anyone know where that French unit went to?

Okay, right now we're looking for the German retreat, but let me give you a "heads up" on a draw vote.  There's a proposal for an EGT draw.  This'll be voted on in the fall.

Unfortunately we have our first nmr this fall, I failed to find orders from France. John, if I missed them please let me know ASAP, 24 hours by the rules.  They should be in the DC orders box if you remembered to send them there.

Now, the turn.

Two retreats needed, one from Germany and one from France.  They are due tomorrow, in just under 24 hours, along with Winter adjustments.  Remember, you can submit build/disband orders conditional to the retreats, since they are all due at the same time.

-----------------------------
Autumn:
Both units also have the option of retreating off the board, which will happen if I don't get an order for them.

French F Marseilles can retreat to Gulf of Lyon.
German F Sweden can retreat to Finland or Gulf of Bothnia or
           Denmark or Skagerrak.

Winter:  These assume that both units retreat.  If they go off the board then France only removes one, and Germany would build one.

Austria:   Supp 10 Unit  9 Build  1
England:   Supp  4 Unit  3 Build  1
France:    Supp  4 Unit  6 Remove  2
Germany:   Supp  6 Unit  6 Build  0
Italy:     Supp  3 Unit  3 Build  0
Russia:    Supp  5 Unit  4 Build  1
Turkey:    Supp  2 Unit  3 Remove  1

Anyone confused?  Unsure about the conditional builds?  Send me a note. I'll check all evening.

Maps attached.  Check the orders.
