Spring 19.  Wow.  Germany lands in England... nothing else moves, save for a few units shuffling around behind the lines.  There are no retreats so next is Tuesday!  Monday is a Holiday!  Please be aware -- it will be a fast week!  If any builds are due after Tuesday, they will be due Wed and the next spring on Thu.  That could be Tue-Wed-Thu deadlines.

Let's do 12 noon on Tues, 3 hours earlier than normal.

Enjoy,

As a matter of record, we DID have a retreat but it only had one option so I took it (especially since David has a few disbands needed anyway):
German A Hol retreated to Ruh
So with that we will move to Winter where we have the following adjustments:
France build 1Germany remove 2Italy remove 1Turkey build 2
I need those by tomorrow at 9p EST. Sorry for the delay but I have a prior engagement that will delay me a bit with builds. However, if I get it sooner marked as "final" I will go ahead and run the turn.
As another note, we WILL have Spring on Monday in spite of Memorial Day holiday in the US; however we won't do that turn until 9p EST to give everyone a bit longer due to the holiday.

dc451 fall 08 (Winter Blitz) untitled36 May 24, 12:21 am
The game's over. I submit an EAT draw. If we play this game out, no matter how hard we try to keep france alive, he's going to be a very minor power at the end, which is the only reason I'm not including him. It'll come down to England with 17, and AFT with 17 together. I'm all for saving time and calling it quits now. But it's up to the rest of you. Can we vote with Spring orders, Hamish? (Or Winter if you get a full set by then? I vote Yes on the draw.

And Build F Smyrna, Build A Ankara

Hi guys,Round 2 with Garry and I seem to bring drama. We have lots of movement and a LOT of SC's change hands even though we don't have a corresponding number of builds for Winter.

Hi all,Thanks to John R for handling the game so well. This game was really plagued by NMRs, especially the first one by Austria. I wanted to force a Key Lepanto but got a new ally instead. Hamish was naturally suspicious after seeing the first moves and I wasn’t able to allay his fears. At the same time I was trying to make sure France just couldn’t waltz into the Med since it was clear that England wasn’t going to attack France (yet). In the east, Russia was trying to handle two fronts at once and Turkey had made it clear that he wasn’t going for a two fleets for Turkey alliance. Germany was busy committing slow suicide by aiding England and France. This brings us to Spring 1903 when Hamish failed to order ADR-ION and failed to tell me he wasn’t going to do so. Had I known he wasn’t going to make the move I would have moved Ven-Apu instead of uselessly supporting Ven-Tri. With Turkey in ION in the Spring I didn’t get  the build in Naples for owning Spain in the Fall. That was pretty much the end for me, the rest was just trying to organize hopeless last stands. John

I joined the game for the fall 01 orders ... no, that's not the beginning of an excuse.  Russia was in Gal and Italy had ordered Ven - Tri (and bounced) in the spring.  My fall orders (and the orders to follow) were all defensive.
By the end of 1902 it was already over.  Russia and Turkey had allied and Italy was concentrating on the west (but leaving the Venice army there for my support).
I'd done nothing meaningful to stop Turkey's advance.  On reflection, I should have come out with all guns blazing, taken Serbia in '01 and put up a bit of a fight. H

dc446 w18 builds! - FuzzyLogic   (May 21, 2013, 4:38 pm)
England retreats to London.  Austria waives his builds again.  Next is Thursday!  3pm Central.  Nothing to vote on as nothing was proposed this round.  Sorry no map, in a hurry -- I'm sure you all can picture the English Fleet in Lon.  Smile

Enjoy!

Italy takes the English Channel!

Not much moves this round, but that which does is pretty significant.  Crossing that line between MAO and NAT/IRI/ENG is one of the hardest things an Italian can do, yet Mikael makes it look easy - cut the support, take the space.  Even coordinated English defenses could not have stopped the move.

If you count the units NW of the diagonal stalemate line and SW of the same line, it's like 25 to 9.  Interesting.
