Standard DC226\Spring/1913
==========================
The Deadline for gunboat game dc226 Summer 1913 is Wed 21, Fall
1913 deadline is Sunday, Oct 25, at 2400 Hrs. The retreat of
Turkey Gal-Rum will be assumed unless I receive a different
retreat order before Wed 21. My IMAC is in the shop again so I
must compete with my 17 year old son for computer time. Delays
of up to 24 hours may occur. The good news is that the tech
discovered my complaint about the speed going up and down is
true. Sorry for delays these troubles may cause.

I speak for all in thanking Mike Hoffman for his
contribution to the game while in command of the always
tricky AUSTRIAN position.
TURKEY stalemated by G/E will alliance continue to hold?

RULES QUESTION: I CAN DISLODGE MY OWN UNIT? NO! 2000 Rules;
page 13 Self Dislodgement, page 14 cutting support on your own
units

Not only can you not directly dislodge your own unit but you
can not indirectly dislodge one of your units with a support,
or by cutting one of your own supports. This was a nightmare
to program, it took me years before I got it to work right
without some unexpected bug showing up.

ENGINEERED PRESS RELEASES
-------------------------
Willie,
An excellent opportunity this year! We trust your analysis has
revealed the same information to you. This Spring you should
be able to take Galicia and retake Venice. We have already
dispatched the forces necessary to facilitate these campaigns.
dispatched the forces necessary to facilitate these campaigns.
With Venice under control, Naples and Trieste will follow. By the end of the year, the Sultan will have no alternative but
to sue for peace.
Yours in Victory and Peace!
Bertie

Dearest Bertie,
Thank you for your latest missive, and I trust and hope that
the Season has turned out well for us along your suggested
lines... If not,I feel any setback will merely be temporary.

In the meantime however, so as to enable me to sleep peacefully
in my bed, I would kindly request that you consider withdrawing
F DEN to SKA and F MAO to NAO as a gesture of goodwill to my
forces, who, as you know, have borne the brunt of the fighting
on the mainland, and who would surely welcome such orders.

I can sense the Sultan wilting, let us press home our advantage together!
Willie.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
