I thought this varient was very interesting and enjoyed it a lot. I thought that it added a lot of extra diplomacy and a very complicated ally structure to the game. Before the game started I put a decent amount of analysis into which countries would be able to operate with less ally conflicts then others. I request to be either G-I or I-R and ended up with Italy Russia. I then worked to create and alliance between Felix, Mike and myself. Then the difficult part was to keep the alliance stable while we fought various allied and semi-allied sectors. It is impossible to go through this varient without attacking allies. Then I got a little lucky I was able to get pretty close to 20 SC and then make some unexpected moves for the win. I enjoyed the varient and thought it was quite interesting. I was actually expecting the game to break down with people preventing each other from being able to move but it didn't really happen. Good game by all. Steve thanks for the interesting varient.

Stephen, Thank you for the stimulating variant.
The extra level of Diploming really changed the dynamic of this game.
I guess the only issues I had were near the end when turkey was getting crushed, my partner had another nation that was doing well and the communication between us fell apart.
That said, I think this variant has a lot of legs, and is very playable as long as you really understand what you are getting into.

Very Well played Derek! Thought I might be able to keep us even, but Germany just couldn't grow as fast as Russia. Not sure what happened with Turkey's attack on Rum, it might have saved me.
Felix, nice job at keeping Germany down.
Dan, it was a good partnership. Wish we could have made it work better.
Stephen, Let's do this again!!!! I really enjoyed this dual variant.
Thanks all for a great game.
