I see, and so does the world....
Although the French offer surrender, with drawl, and a heartfelt apology, the Italians have no heart. The French were extending a hand to a country [Turkey] who was being violently attacked by Italy among others. To this end the French moved toward Italy to force a with drawl. Despite the French efforts, Turkey was doomed. France now is offering total with drawl of his forces from Italian regions and thus legitimizing Italy's claim to parts of Turkey, and yet Italy offers the following reply.....hmmmm.

Willie,
Your fleet will make it home. In pieces. Lots of pieces. It will be my pleasure to return this agression - but I will bring just a bit more firepower than you did.
Once I disband your army in Naf, then we can talk.

I am offering a formal apology to you and your people. I have definitely overstepped. My aggressions were originally to distract you, to allow Turkey (the other replacement player) a chance to regain his footing. He is now gone and I have lost interest in tangling with the proud Italian people. My orders for my fleet in Rome are simple. Come on home. F Rome - Tyrrhenian Sea will be the first step. Obviously you can block that. I am hoping for a gesture of good faith in return for my offering no further aggression against the Italian people for at least two years. Additionally if allowed to leave Rome, the fleet will continue on to the Western Mediterranean to convoy the army home as well.
