PREV  Winter 1900 Adjudication:  NEXT

Welcome to DC 351! I'm super excited to get started, and I'm sure you're all excited as well.

I already said everything I needed in my earlier e-mail, except how to address e-mails to me. In the subject, please have our game number. If the number is not there, the e-mail may get lost in the clutter of my inbox. If it has the number it will be filtered into a separate folder and will certainly not be lost.

Since this is the first time playing online, or at least at DC, for a number of you, the standard subject line of an e-mail containing orders looks something like this: "DC 351 Italy S01" The number is quite necessary, the country is nice for organization, and the season/year is similarly helpful. But I won't penalize you in any way for not doing your subject like this. But it would be helpful.

As a general thing, I recommend everyone send in preliminary orders at the start of every single season. This prevents the dreaded NMR. If I do not have orders from you 24 hours before the deadline, I will send a private alert. If you believe you sent in orders, just resend them. If you haven't sent orders, get on it! I've been in many games ruined my NMRs, and also have been in many games badly delayed by a lenient GM. There is no good solution to the problem, but I'd rather be annoyingly proactive than inconveniently reactive.

That said, if you need a deadline extension, let me know.

Also, as I said, I live in Anchorage, Alaska, so I am on AKST. Because deadlines are in GMT, which is 9 hours ahead of me, this will lead to some weird looking deadlines, such as the one we have now. The deadline is 3 AM on December 21st GMT. That looks like a crazy deadline. But in Anchorage, it is actually 6 PM, on December 20th. This is a more reasonable deadline. But it is on a different date, which could be confusing. Not a big deal, but most of the dates for our deadlines will appear to be falsely boosted by one day. So just keep that in mind, I guess.

Oh, and I'm yet to update my house rules on the DC site, and so if you go to our game's site (http://www.diplomaticcorp.com/game_page.php?game_id=dc351) and click on my house rules, you will get a very old set of house rules from when I used to GM in college. Ignore it absolutely.

Guess I didn't say everything last time, hah! Ok, enough semantics. And now the moment we've all been waiting for!! The who's who of Europe!!!

Spring 1901 deadline is Monday December 20th at 6 PM AKST which is 3:00 AM GMT on Tuesday December 21st. There is a map attached. You do not necessarily have to use the abbreviations on the map. Just as long as it makes sense. Feel free to ask me to check your abbreviations to make sure I understand them. Feel free to ask me anything. Hell, feel free to ask me about other players' moves. I won't tell you, but you can ask me ;).

Ok, enough with my awful humor. Game on!!

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
