Born Nagao Kagetora, the man who would become Uesugi Kenshin took his
namesake from the Ogigayatsu Uesugi clan who dominated the Kanto
region for many years before the rise of the later warlords Kenshin,
Shingen, and Ujiyasu. Kenshin was known as the Dragon of Echigo for
his fierce warrior spirit and dedication to Bishamonten - the patron
of warriors. By the end of the Sengoku Jidai era, Kenshin (and his
successor, Uesugi Kagekatsu) would control a vast swath of land
stretching from Etchu to Mutsu.

TEAHOUSE COMMENTARY, by Sen Rikyu: The invasion of Noto that our
Kenshin hoped to accomplish will have to wait another year. In the
Kanto region, Hojo alone surges ahead at Takeda's expense in Kai. Yet
things might have been worse for Takeda - as he retains South Shinano
against an Oda invasion. Asakura continues his conquest of the Kinki
region by claiming Settsu, and Chosokabe makes landfall on Honshu with
the capture of Bizen. Mori launches a daring invasion of Hizen that
succeeds with the aid of the neutral army in Chikuzen.
