PREV  Fall 1649 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hi guys,

the mood at the French and Polish courts could hardly be more different. Thanks France's descent on Seville, Cardinal Mazarin can now afford to double the realm's forces. And what of Poland? She made a bid for both Moldavia and the Crimea, yet neither attempt proved successful.

France's attack on Spain must be the season's most momentous development. What may also be worth noting is how the Northern powers (other than Sweden) have only experienced modest growth. And even Sweden might have done better. Though considering Sweden's early retiring into winter quarters, this curtailed growth looks to have been on purposed.

Now a few housekeeping items:

I'm now using a different pattern for denoting control. Is this one superior to the thin diagonal one? Neither is ideal, but such is life.

The Rhineland: That's how the space is called. Rhi is the corresponding label. Though I of course do accept RWe and Rhineland-Westphalia in orders. Not all game material take account of the change, I'm afraid. An oversight I'll have to correct at some point.

Should you wish to make my GMing task a little easier, you could use the below format for DP allocations:

Rhi: A2 S Swa-Hes

:

But don't fret over not doing so. Lazy me just fancies reducing matters to a copy-paste job.

The winter deadline is about 46 hours away. Everyone except Wlad owes me build orders.

Happy dipping!

Charles
