You can dance, you can jive, having the time
of your life
See that girl, watch that scene, diggin the
dancing queen...

The music's sweltering as the builds of Winter 1901 come and go. Standing out in the crowded house are fleets - fleets at all corners of the map. In Smyrna, in London, in Marseilles, in Kiel and in Naples - folks make like the Village People and go In The Navy. Meanwhile, a few armies get raised as well - with new elevator shoes hitting the floors in Paris, in Berlin and in St. Petersburg.
With that resolved, we move on to Spring 1902. Deadline for orders will be set for Thursday, December 13th (11:59 PM GMT.)
Also, I have to apologize but sometimes I forget that not everyone has a 100% grasp of the many nuances of this games rules. A couple points for clarification:
1. To gain control of a supply center, you have to hold it for a Fall turn. If you move in on the Spring turn, then move out on the Fall turn then you do not secure that center - it remains Neutral. Supply Center count is ONLY done at the end of the Fall turn of every game year.
2. There is no voluntary disband allowed in a Standard Diplomacy game. Some variant games allow this, but unfortunately it is not part of the basic Diplomacy rules. Thus you cannot voluntarily disband a unit and replace it with another unit at a different location. The only time that you can choose to disband a unit is if it is dislodged and forced to retreat - at that point you may choose to retreat it Off The Board (OTB).
Please let me know if you guys have any questions on either the above points, or on any bit of trivia about the game - no matter how minor. I am always happy to talk about Dip - in fact some wish I would shut up about it. =)
Cheers all!
