PREV  Spring 1650 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hi guys,

what is there to say of the spring results?

With the Poles and Swedes already engaged in battle, the Tsar has now decided to join the party. The history of the 1650s is repeating itself in our game. Those years went into history as the "Polish Deluge"...

Further south, the Ottomans have abandoned the siege of Candia. Just as well, seeing how the Spaniards supported the Venetian garrison there. Instead the Sultan has chosen to shift his forces eastwards. In any case, the pressure on Turkey seems to be mounting by the day.

The third power in serious difficulties would be England. Denmark has swept into Scotland and defeated the English Navy in the strategically important German Sea. Meanwhile, a large sea battle between the Commonwealth and France ended inconclusively. Does Cromwell face a hostile coalition? And how does the Spanish armada in the Cantabrian Sea factor into all of this? Does it at all?

In Italy, both Paris and Vienna offered Spain support into the Papal States. Albeit to different coasts. The Most Catholic King went with the eastern option. What does that mean for the future?

Administrative note: I'll publically name any player who goes into grace time. Consider that an incentive to meet the proper deadline. Further, I might mention that I accept anybody's changes while in grace time and I haven't received orders from all players.

Andras owes me two retreat orders.

Happy dipping!

Charles
