PREV  Fall 1902 Adjudication:  NEXT

The Fall of 1902 was certainly interesting. In alphabetical order.....

Austria regained Vienna, but is ejected from Budapest and leaves Bulgaria to the Turks.
Britain pushes Germany out of Denmark and assists the French into Holland.
France takes Holland from the Germans with British help.
Germany takes a beating this fall. Two centers lost and none gained.
Italy chases the Turkish fleet back to his homeland.
Russia retakes an undefended Sevastopol and blocks a German assault on Warsaw.
Turkey retakes an undefended Bulgaria, and with Russian help smashes into Budapest, while falling back in the south.

I would say it is shaping up to be a really interesting game. Keep up the great work!

On a technical note. When submitting support orders, please indicate what the supported unit is suppose to be doing. Chris (Austria) has a perfect example this turn. He sent orders for F Greece to Support A Bulgaria, and A Bulgaria to Hold. That would be fine, but I would like to see F Greece to Support A Bulgaria Hold. When it became problematic was when he then sent a change for just A Bulgaria - Serbia. At this point I am left to guess at what his intentions were. His fleet can not support a moving unit. Let us also assume that his fleet was an army. Then would I assume that he wants the support to now be for the moving unit? As it turns out, nothing would have likely changed in the results, but it could be significant. The morale of the story is please complete the end of the support order, and when you send a change order, it is not a bad idea to resend all of the orders. You might catch a mistake. Sorry Chris if you feel like I was picking on you, it was just to show an example. Also if you send orders in early enough and I catch invalid move, I will try to let you know.

We have four retreats this turn. Austria's army in Budapest falls back to its only option of Trieste (unless you want to disband it.) Turkey's fleet falls back to Smyrna (unless you want to disband it.). Germany has two retreats and unfortunately the only option for both is Kiel. This means only one can retreat, the other must disband. In the interest in keeping the game moving along, we with do builds and retreats at the same time. If you feel your builds could vary depending on the outcome of Germany's decision to retreat, you may submit your orders to show what you would like to build in either case and I will take care of it.

So what I need is:

Austria: nothing
Britain: 1 build
France: 1 build
Germany: Your retreat and disband decision, plus another disband of your choice.
Italy: nothing
Russia: nothing
Turkey: 1 build

I have also had a request to speed up the turn cycle to about 5 days instead of a week. I am completely fine with the increased pace (with the exception that I generally do not plan due dates for weekends), so the decision is up to all of you. Please let me know by Friday whether or not you wish to increase the pace. Also let me know if you would be ok with weekend due dates.

Finally....
Build/Retreat/Disband/Pace Orders will be due by 6pm EST on Monday 7 APRIL 2008. I will send out the results sooner if I have them, so get them in.

With great pleasure in assisting you.
Your humble gamemaster
DaveE
