PREV  Fall 1650 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hi guys,

Spain's Army of Flanders found itself in the eye of a Franco-Danish storm - and survived to tell the tale! How happy the English would have been to see the backs of those viking interlopers. Now much depends for England on Frederick's subsequent action... Anyway, I'm glad the English and Danes are keeping the printing presses going, while the rest of Europe appears to be positively illiterate. Perhaps that Karl Dikkens will pen a piece for publication?

Elsewhere, the French were able to see off a half-hearted Austrian attack. Was this the first skirmish in an Austro-French war? In any case, the Bourbon crown has lost some of its former lustre. For France may be the only country not to have garnered further builds.

In other news, the Poles and Russians appear to be best drinking buddies and have dreamt up a joint anti-Ukrainian campaign over a couple of vodkas. Poland can also claim her first build - at the expense of the Sublime Porte.

Russia's building privileges on the Crimea are already proving quite handy. For the Czar wouldn't be able to raise any new forces without these. Hm, that must be why a more recent Russian ruler invaded the place...

On to more prosaic matters: I've attached a pdf featuring my house rules. My apologies for not having made them available to you any earlier.

Lastly, I've advertised a new 1648 game on the diplomaticcorp website. I'm eager to see my latest changes in action. You guys are welcome to join, should your diplo-batteries be sufficiently loaded for two simultaneous contests. Might be the chance to try out a power which has piqued your interest.

I could accomodate 4-5 players from dc509. First come, first serve.

Happy dipping!

Charles

DANISH PRESS: The Danish Viking forces strike, singing their battle anthem, a throaty ballad penned by the official minstrels of the independent principality of Mordhaus

"Many days ago we left our homes with swords to ride into the night
Fighting side by side to destroy our foes and leave them without life
So much time has passed since we left our land that we've become concerned
That we'll never find the battle that we should have fought - and won
But we won't...stop...searching!"

ENGLISH PRESS: Whilst Commander Cromwell deals a decisive Blow against the Irish Rebels and the Threat of Papal Infection into the good Protestant Stock of English Lyfe, the treacherous Danes have landed an invasion troop under cover of darkness in the Yorkshire district. All available English troops are racing towards the site of the Danish Landing. However, it is believed that they are moving south, to London. Parliament is surrounded by loyal troops and its doors have been hammered shut from the inside. Barricades are being erected on the streets and citizens are burning books written by Karl Dikkens, the well-known Danish author. In other news Charles Stuart, one-time tyrant and King of England, is still dead.

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
