PREV  Spring 1766 Adjudication:  NEXT

Friends,

Sheepishly, Frederick the Great took all of the chilling Eiswein and placed it back in long-term storage, as what appears to be audacious treachery from Louis XV and his minions puts a serious crimp in Prussian dreams of hegemony. Also on the outside are the Ottomans, apparently as blindsided by the perfidy as their ubermenschen. Meanwhile, France not only has productive cooperation with the similarly randy Austrians, but with the sailing Danes as well. The British and Swedes might have detente, while poor Spain continues to move about the board without any apparent friends and a long-term plan that - to this observer - remains murky.

As usual in this game we have no retreats, pressing us forward to the fall. Let's keep the deadlines the same unless anyone objects, given the lost 24 hours.

Happy hunting!

Dirk
