so, how have things gone this spring?
- The Emperor defeated the French with easy in Alemannic lands (i.e. Swabia and Switzerland). Louis didn't even attempt to hold Swabia, but chose instead to occupy the rich archbishoprics of Mainz, Trier and Cologne. Only in Italy, were the Bourbons able to hold the line.
- The French have abandoned their invasion of the Iberian peninsula. Are the now empty provinces of Leon and Aragon an indication of Franco-Spanish detente?
- The Lord Protector's armies have debarked on the continent. In Scandinavia, the English appear to have the upper hand. However, in Northern Germany, the French and Austrians may tip the scales in the present Anglo-Danish War.
- Farther East, the Poles and Danes have bested the Swedes. The Swedish riksday and court hastily were evacuated to the greater security of abo.
- The Sultan is push his armies northwards and his navy westwards.
- Rumour has it that a momentous European victory has taken place in the New World! A great bounty of gold awaits those heroes on Sunday!
France, Poland and Sweden owe my retreat orders. The deadline's tomorrow, 6 PM CET.
