Dear Diary,
Sad news comes to the expedition today as we have been unable to contact Maria all day. The equipment that we set up in Cockpit is also missing, and we think that Maria has left us, taken all the equipment and joined one of the other groups of people who are exploring this island.

It also appears that all the other groups that I have encountered consider me a threat and are closing in on me from all sides. Things look dire indeed, but I hope to be able to sneak off behind their lines to establish some more control over the situation.
