PREV  Spring 1653 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hi guys,

not only Baron's "College of Cardinals" variant has crusades. As of now, so does our game! Near all Christendom appears to have united to wage holy war against the Turk.

The Sultan's Tartar hordes have once again burnt down Moscow. Their favourite pasttime in past centuries. Yet, the Ottomans have suffered another Lepanto in the Mediterranean and appear to have been caught unprepared to meet the Imperial advance towards the Balkans.

Elsewhere, there may be some hints at cracks in the Christian "Holy League". As the below press suggests, the Czar probably has few friends in Whitehall.

Jim's about to head off on holiday to Africa and has asked me to delay the fall deadline. Summer retreats are still set for Friday, but the fall is then only on 6 August.

Happy dipping!

Charles

ENGLISH PRESS:
The citizens of Russia have always been wary of their incompetent Czar but the trust has hit an all-time low. They can't understand why so much of their Motherland has been handed over to those heretics in Anatolia. Friends abroad have begun pressuring their governments to do whatever can be done to stop the senseless sacking of the Third Rome. The Czar is under home arrest due to the treachery. Will he survive his captivity?
