PREV  Fall 1653 Adjudication:  NEXT

Hi guys,

so, how did this season shape up?

Austria: Considerable effort was tied up with destroying the annoying Spanish fleet in the midst of imperial yellow (gold to be exact). Relations between the Hofburg and Stockholm may have deteriorated. For an Austrian army took up opposite positions against Sweden's Polish army. And then there's Austria's attack on Sweden's host in Lower Saxony.

Denmark: I'm sorry to say that it's time to say farewell to the Kung. Patrick, a pity things went south for you after a promising start. I hope you'll fare better as the Reds in the 1936 game. Please submit your EOG report within the next few days. Thanks!

England: Cromwell retook Bristol, but suffers a net loss of one SC this year. The British Isles still remain the most crowded battlefield in Europe.

France: The Spanish Army of Flanders was cornered and then unceremoniously destroyed. This means modest growth for the Bourbons. What's to make of France repeatedly giving Austria void support?

Russia: More or less encircles the whole map. Quite something. The Tsar outfoxed his opponent in the desert, Rommel-style so to speak.

Spain: Madrid's darkest hour? Three (!) Spanish units got destroyed this season. In Italy, the Low Countries and British Isles. Normally the Spaniards could have now levied replacements. But there's no vacant HSC to build in... This is where France's foray into Spain really hurt since it forced Spain to cover both Seville and Madrid. Viewed together with the bad news from the desert, then one has to consider this a very dire turn for Spain.

Sweden: Three builds! All of Northern Germany secured! But there are some troubling developments in respect to Austria. And such plentiful builds might provoke envy among Sweden's rivals.

We have another draw proposal on the table. See below. Deadline for votes is the winter phase. Thursday 3 PM GMT.

Cheers,

Charles
