Hi guys,
we now have our answer to the question whether the Czar shall winter in Moscow. Apparently the Turks have turned the Russian capital into one big bonfire. No place fit for a court! So Russia's high society has instead decamped to marshy Ingria. It is said Russian engineers are now circulating plans for building a new Russian capital on the banks of the Neva...
Elsewhere, both Austria and France have discovered an enthusiasm for shipbuilding. Whereas the Spaniards can no longer sustain fleet operations off the Tunis coast. We shall see how this affects the Mediterranean balance of power.
Let me remind you all that retreats and adjustments are published together. Since adjustments follow retreats, adjustment orders may be made conditional on any retreats. Example: Two units required to retreat could both repair to the same space. Players could make their adjustments conditional on a retreat standoff occuring and hence the forced disbanding of the two units involved.
I stress this so as to help avoid any future confusion!
On another note: My upcoming 1648 playtest has almost filled up. One or two openings are still left. I limited the number of dc499 players who could join to 4 (to keep things from not getting to incestuous). And those openings have been taken. DC499 players are welcome to sign up as reserve players. Observers are of course not limited in such a manner!
Spring 1654 Moves are set for 20 August. Coming Wednesday. As a heads-up: I may be a bit longer in getting that adjucation out.
I'm eager to see what the next year shall bring. Happy dipping!
Charles
