England NMR's Putting Him in Civil Disorder
Which is Only Relevant Because It Means His Retreat is a Disband
Austria is Evicted from Trieste
Italy is Evicted from Tunis
Germany Looks to Redeploy the Troops?
EGP's and Press
All,
We have a bit of everything this turn. NMR, CD, EGP, retreats, Press. All of it. In one turn.
First, we see an unceremonious exit for England. A second consecutive NMR puts him in CD. It ends up only being relevant in that his normal retreat opportunity turns simply into a disband.
Second, we have a retreat:
Austrian A Tri can retreat to Tyr or Ven
Let me have that retreat, marked final by 12p CT tomorrow if possible. I would like to get the retreat done before going out of town for 4 days...
We also have two EGP proposals to vote on with Fall:
4-way AFGT
French solo
Remember to vote on these with Fall orders. An absent vote is a no. In the rare case both pass, the more inclusive one would be selected.
We are going to target Fall06 for next Thursday the 14th at 12p CT.

PRESS
In the deepest, darkest dungeon under the Berlin headquarters of the German high command, notable Turkish spy Kadın Budu Köftes found himself confronted by General Von Liegender Unhold and French ambassador Fromager Puant. Wrapped in chains and half-starved, Köftes stared at Unhold who lounged in a leather armchair carried down the rough staircase into the dungeon by his faithful retainer, Corporal Otto Schmidt..
‘What is it that you want, Herr General?’, rasped Köftes.
Unhold made no response, merely shifting in his seat, while Fromager coughed nervously.
‘General. Is there something I can do for you, or shall we get this charade over with and move on to the firing squad?’, said Köftes, with a note of confidence coming into his voice. ‘Because you can’t let me go, you know. I know too much.’
‘What exactly do you know, Köftes?’, sneered the General. He removed one of his leather gloves and slapped it against his knee.
‘Well, I know that the translation of your name is ‘Lying Fiend’, for one thing’, Köftes spat.
‘And I suppose you know the translation of my name, and find it most amusing’, interjected Fromager. ‘These snide insults mean nothing to us., You are not the only master of language, and we all know the meaning of your very embarrassing name’.
‘Enough!’, laughed Unhold. ‘We have bigger issues to settle. Our nations are at war and we must gain the upper hand. Tell me Köftes, where have you concealed the secret plans?’
‘You mean the secret plans which detail planned Turkish troop movements for the year ahead, our tactical planning and technology, and provide the roadmap for the establishment of the Sultinate across the whole of Southern Europe?’, Köftes shrieked. ‘I will never, ever let you have those’.
‘No, no, no, my dear Köftes. Don’t be so melodramatic’, the General replied. ‘We wish to know the secrets of the perfect doner kebab and you will reveal it to us.’
Fromager leaned across the armchair, concealing his mouth to speak to the General. ‘General, you assured me that our efforts; that long voyage by zeppelin into enemy territory; our near death experiences in Astrakhan, were not a simple matter of culinary exploration. Have you lost your senses?’
‘Dear, dear Fromager. Please trust me for a little longer. The doner kebab is more complex a matter than you could ever imagine’. ‘Now Köftes!’, boomed the General. ’Otto will fetch his tools and you will see that I have a plan to access your secrets’.
