Fall 1654 will be the last meaningful season of our game, as Austria, by stabbing for Flanders and United Provinces even while accepting Spanish support into Paris, gains enough centers to secure the solo victory. Congratulations to João.
However, as I understand the rules of Diplomacy, supply centers don't officially change hands until after retreats. And here is where my inexperience as a GM leaves me wondering exactly how to proceed. There are retreats as a result of the fall orders. Should I have those powers who need to make a retreat (Poland and Spain) send in those orders, or should I just end the game now? For those that like the maps, and the colored supply centers, by adjudicating the retreat, we could have a final map showing the final ownership of centers. However that may not matter at all to some. Either way, as the game would end after the retreats, there would be no need send in winter adjustment orders.
I welcome input as to how to handle the retreat phase. I also welcome End Of Game statements. Once collected I will publish them on the game page at Diplomaticcorps.
