*Betrayal Strikes the Alliance?*
*Another One Bites the Dust*
*Militia in Warsaw and Moscow Repel Armies*

Hey all,

I'm always hesitant to say anything as a GM that I don't think is clearly obvious to any player. I'm very conscious of my role, and I don't want to influence the flow of the game unduly. Add to that the uncertainty from my bird's eye view if certain bounces are planned or not. But with all that said, *something's* going on in the alliance. Clashes occur in Warsaw and Moscow. Austrians invade Greece, and the Germans attempt to help the English into Brest. Could the alliance be cracking? That would be good news to the minor powers, except we lose another of those powers this round. A fond farewell to France. I've played with Dan more than once before, and I've been consistently impressed by his playing. So much so that pre-s01 I believed he would do well and maybe even secure a draw or solo. But alas, through diplomacy breakdowns, organized resistance, or perhaps sheer fate, the game went against him. Thanks for hanging in there, Dan!
We now have only five powers left, and Turkey holds a single center. England clings tenaciously to life, but is surrounded by foreign powers. And, of course, the big 3 rule the board from Portugal to St. Pete. Interestingly, one the top 5 scoring players at this point in the blitz, THREE of them are from this game (Your humble GM happens to be in the top five as well). You can check it out yourself here. Of course, don't read too much into this, as once a game ends, points can get up to 21.8, and right now the top score is a mere 5.1. Speaking of game endings, an AIG draw is proposed. Votes due tomorrow!
One retreat was required. Italian A Gre needed to retreat, but the only valid on-board option was Alb, so I auto-adjudicated it. OTB is of course a possibility, and that would make Italy even rather than -1.

Builds and Disbands:
Austria: +3 (+Ank, +Con, +Gre)
England: Even
France: -1 (-Bre, - Par, +disband in Bre) ELIMINATED
Germany: +1 (+Par)
Italy: -1 (+Bre, -Gre, -Smy)
Russia: ELIMINATED
Turkey: Even (-Con, -Ank, +Smy, +disband in ank)
