I forgot to take account of a retreat by A Silesia into Cracow when listing adjustments. This oversight is corrected further below.
---
Hallo zusammen,
well, it's good we're finally back from our extended holiday break. So what has happened this fall?
Austria has ballooned to 13 SCs - just three short of victory. Even opportunistically grabbing one Polish SC.Perhaps this closeness to the solo explains why Denmark has invaded Silesia?
It may also explain why the English and Spaniards have overcome past differences, by the looks of it. For Spain is now focussed on Italy.
In the East, Russia and Sweden have made little progress against another. Though Russia is growing stronger and Sweden's strength will be taking a hit this winter.
We now have the answer to which minor power will be the last one standing. The Rhineland. It stands at the margins of English, French, Austrian and Danish spheres of interest and so no one power has been able to muster sufficient leverage to occupy those rich bishoprics.
Retreats and adjustments to me please. Happy dipping!
Charles

ENGLISH PRESS: France: The news from Brest is grave. British troops under intense browbeating and bombardments of rancid Brie by French troops have been forced to evacuate the town. Local citizens are in an uproar as the British had to demolish the sewers, paved roads, band shell, and badminton courts in order to deny French troops unnecessary luxuries. "We certainly are sad to have to inconvenience the good people of Brest", noted Admiral Sir Hugo Shovitt, from the Quarterdeck of his flagship, 'Cromwell's Mercy'. "I'm sure that once the good people of Brest must again endure snails, soft cheese, and French beer, they will be calling us back to once again enjoy a proper diet of bangers & mash, blood pudding and British ale."
