PREV  Spring 1907 Adjudication:  NEXT

Not a Lot of Action
But a Reversal of Direction/Alliances?
Germany Inches Closer to Austria and Turkey
Italy Continues to Hold
No EGP Passes but New Ones Proposed
Russia Makes a Play for Survival? (check for the Easter Egg)
And the Story of the German General Continues...

All,
This one is hard to figure out. Seems to be waffling a bit and Italy seems content to watch from the sidelines. I can't really see where this is going but I am sure it will reveal itself soon enough.

With not a lot of action there come no retreats. So we move directly to Fall1907.

The deadline for Fall1907 shall be next Tuesday the 3rd at 12p CT.

Oh, but wait! We have new EGP's:

A 3-way FGI
A 4-way AFGI

Votes are needed with Fall orders. Remember, failing to vote counts as a NO.

PRESS
All of a sudden, Ambassador Fromager Puant found himself left alone in the dungeon. Unhold had rushed away to business of his own, whilst Otto Schmidt dragged Köftes away to presumably meet a grisly fate. Fromager glanced around nervously and then smiled broadly. In their moment of triumph, the stupid Germans had made a fatal error. Puant was the man left holding the film with the detailed plans showing Turkish forces and in his head he carried the detailed knowledge of German command structures and tactics, gained through years of shadowing General Von Liegender Unhold. His chance had come to deliver victory to La Belle France!

Slipping the film into his boot, Fromager strolled nonchalantly strolled out of the dungeon; sauntered out of the headquarters building and summoned his driver to take him to the railway station. The night sleeper from Berlin to Paris departed in less than an hour and he would be gone before the General had finished his celebratory stein of lager. No challenge came as the car swept out of the military encampment and despite some heavy traffic along Unter den Linden the Ambassador was safely dropped off at the Anhalter Bahnhof with 20 minutes until departure. Waving his diplomatic papers at the train guard, he boarded the train without a ticket and settled himself down in a finely furnished first class compartment.

Fromager hummed nervously as he waited for departure, glancing at his watch every few seconds. He allowed himself a massive sign of relief as the famous German efficiency saw the train begin to pull away right on time. He smirked and slowly removed his boot, taking the precious film in his palm.
‘The most valuable thing in the world. And, I have it’.

A shadow appeared in the doorway of the compartment and Fromager looked up, straight into the severe gaze of General Unhold, with Corporal Schmidt standing behind him, pointing a pistol.
‘Dear, dear Fromager. You have something that belongs to me, I believe’, rumbled the General. ‘Hand it to Otto without a fuss please.’

Trembling, the ambassador did as he was told. ‘I’m sorry Herr General. I don’t know what came over me’, he spluttered, ‘It was just a spur of the moment thing.’

‘Otto. You know what you have to do. I must take a nap and then develop a plan to defeat our former friends in France’, murmured Unhold. ‘There is nothing worse than betrayal by a dear friend.’
