Austria Betrayed? Austria is Beset on All Sides and Eliminated
Italy Attacked But is Saved (Inadvertently?) by Turkey's Occupation of Venice
EGP's Voted Down, New Ones Proposed (Again)

All,
What a turn of events! Austria is put to the sword.

That definitely seems to change the dynamic of this game. Is Italy next for the triumvirate? Is there even a triumvirate or is there another turn to come?

We have new EGP's to vote on:

FGT
FGAT

Technically the FGAT EGP is no longer valid. So we are just voting on a FGT 3-way draw with Italian survival.

Let's vote on that with Spring orders.

We do have Winter adjustments:

Germany +1
Turkey +2

Let's have Winter adjustments by Thursday the 5th at 4p CT.

PRESS

Newly promoted Captain Otto Schmidt swaggered confidently past the guards outside German High Command. In his hands he carried the tattered battle standards of the XVth Bellydancing Brigade and the French Atlantic Fleet, recently captured by victorious German forces. To be honest they had been in quite good condition when taken, but Otto had dipped them in some sausage fat and applied a few extra stains and rips for good effect. Entirely confident that he would be honoured for his actions in battle and expecting to be party to the next round of planning, he strode into the personal quarters of General Von Liegender Unhold.

‘General! I bring you more news of success! German forces have won victories on every front. We are unstoppable.’, he declared.

The General was silent. He sat like a gross beast in the centre of a mighty feast. Meatballs, smelly cheese, fish and chips were scattered across his worktable. An upturned glass of port had made a dark red stain across a map of the western front, and a model of a an Austrian lancer in full dress uniform lay on it’s side, horse’s head glued down in a blob of mayonnaise.

‘Is everything alright, General?’, queried Otto, troubled by the silence of his normally ebullient leader. With no response to his question, he gently shook the General’s shoulder. Unhold rippled gently, like a jelly on a plate, and then his slid from his chair, coming to rest in a heap under the table.

‘Mein Gott!’, Otto yelled. ‘The General is dead! He must have been poisoned by the treacherous Turk. Or perhaps the perfidious French!’

Otto slumped into the General’s favourite leather armchair, tears streaming down his cheeks. ‘At this glorious moment of victory, his life has been taken by our vicious and cowardly enemy.’

‘Not so, Captain’, sighed old Doctor FettesgesĂ€ĂŸ, who had entered to attend to the General. ‘He has choked to death. On this.’, and dramatically the Doctor held up a crispy chunk of fried potato. ‘It looks like Fishy McFishface had the last word after all
’

Leaving the grieving Otto, with the body, the ancient Doctor closed the door quietly and shuffled off down the corridor to his quarters, mumbling to himself and clearly in pain from his arthritic hip. As he stepped inside his manner changed abruptly and he was suddenly wrapped in the warm embrace of an elderly medical orderly.

‘Well done. “Herr Doktor”’, smirked the orderly and with a flourish both men ripped off wigs and false beards to reveal their true identities. Ambassador Fromager Puant and legendary Turkish agent Kadın Budu Köftes. Throwing off their disguises and changing into military uniforms the two men strode away from the scene of their triumph, leaving Germany to mourn what might have been.
