PREV  Spring 1656 Adjudication:  NEXT

I THOUGHT I had done everything correctly. Alas, I messed up again. :( Misadjucated England's orders. The below adjucation is corrected accordingly .

---

Hallo zusammen,

not so much movement in the HRE as I had first indicated. But the Rhineland seems to be a focal point of great power rivalry.

In other news, it looks like rumours of an Anglo-Danish war were greatly exaggerated. For Denmark fleet in Aberdeen harbour has left the British Isles. Perhaps to again intervene in Russia...?

I might also mention that I'm now closely looking at map changes that'd affect England the most. I'm looking at the following alternatives:

a) an additional arrow connecting Ireland and Bristol
b) having the English Channel (then better renamed the British Sea) border Ireland

Either of these two options would afford England a good deal more flexibility.

I'm also leaning towards making Croatia a minor power/SC.

Thoughts?

Anyway, both Andrew and Samy owe me retreat orders, due to the turmoil in the HRE. Hope I got all press and maps correctly sorted, this time over...

Happy dipping!

Charles

ANONYMOUS PRESS: Once again, French armies are seen running to and fro to little purpose, but certainly getting their quota of aerobic exercise. The citizens are proud to have an army that can outrun any invading army. Perhaps their peregrinations will bear fruit and make the Austrian and English armies to be spellbound and frozen trying to figure out the reason of French strategy, thereby ensuring survival of the once-respected and feared army. But maybe not.

A Russian envoy stated that rumurs of a Russian takeover of Europe were exagerrated. "Nyet! Our chief goal is Poland. Poland and Sweden...Ah, no. Our two goals are Poland and Sweden...And Italy. Grrrrr, amongst our goals are such diverse countries as Poland, Sweden and Italy. That's all!"

DANISH PRESS: Denmark Proposes an Austria-Denmark-England-Russia Draw!

ENGLISH PRESS: London is in an uproar over the so-called unintentional landing of Danish troops on British soil. "Even if it is only Scotland, it is OUR Scotland, and not Denmark's!" exclaimed Lord Protector Cromwell. There was also rumor that British envoys have been in touch with the Austrian foreign embassy to discuss the Northern Situation. "If Denmark thinks they can get away with slipping into Scotland like a thief in the dark and get away with it, they will pay a pretty penny."

SWEDISH PRESS: "In the icy northern reaches of of Swedish Finland, deep inside the fortress of Sveaborg, a grizzled warrior listens to the news that an envoy has brought him from Stockholm. The great capital has fallen to the dastardly Danes! The warrior bristles with indignation, how dare those Germanic, spineless, traitorous excuses for Scandinavians attack the Swedish homeland. Denmark must be taught a lesson, it is Sweden's turn to rule supreme in Scandinavia. Baron Andras of Sweden is baron no more, he is now Jarl! It is time for the warriors of Sweden to cast off this false christian religion. Ready the longboats, the Swedes now fight in the name of Odin!"
