The big surprise for me this turn was that it is Turkey who captures Vienna, rather than Italy. After two failed attempts in the 17th century, Vienna now falls to the third Ottoman attempt, as the Turks expand their imperial ambitions further into Europe. Austria is eliminated, and the game continues without a negotiated conclusion. Foreign fleets capture the ports at Liverpool and Edinburgh, yet England takes three new centres to offset the four lost.
