Hallo zusammen,
Poland's back! In the past this long-suffering nation suffered the indignities of foreign occupation, yet persevered in face of adversity. And now the Rzeczpospolita has sent her sons to the steppe borderlands and they've returned home with very rich booty! Three builds!
Of course, the one power's gain is another's loss. They'll have to tighten their belts in Moscow. So will the declining Swedes. But at least they've been able to retake their capital.
The Danes saw few rewards for all their efforts against the Swede. For she in turn found herself beset by the Commonwealth. The New Model Army now shall winter in the Rhineland. Together with the conquest of Madrid this makes for a very profitable 1656 for the Lord Protector.
By now it should be only too obvious that the peace talks were broken off before even issues of protocol could be agreed upon. The war shall continue into 1657...
No retreats this season, but plenty of adjustments!
Happy dipping!
Charles

ANONYMOUS PRESS: The Austrian government will no longer tolerate the childish and rude behavior of Danish vikings. And the English. And the Spanish. To say nothing of the Poles. Piling on the Austrian must stop!
ANONYMOUS PRESS: Russia to Spain and England: I have nothing to say that sword and cannon cannot say better!
DANISH PRESS: Denmark is ready for peace. Voting yes on all draws including Denmark!
ENGLISH PRESS: English savants and historians were prepared to launch a special mission to investigate claims that Turkish forces had started storing munitions inside of ancient Greek temples, a practice continued by the current Russian invaders. However, they are being upstaged by Spanish clerics, who insist upon bringing Catholicism to the local inhabitants. English fears are well-founded, since the Spanish method of religious conversion usually involves burning half of the population, destroying their temples and taking all of their money.
DRAW PROPOSAL: Four-way involving Austria, Denmark-Norway, England and Russia fails.
