Hallo zusammen,
England has now taken the lead in the SC count. Just edging past Austria and Denmark.
Interestingly, the Commonwealth fields almost as many armies as naval squadrons. 5 to 6. Which begs the question what the fleet-army ratio is in general. We currently have 18 fleets to 40 armies amounting to a ratio of 0.45.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to 1657.
Good luck and happy dipping!
Charles

ANONYMOUS PRESS: Polish citizens were out in force celebrating the rise of their country to the ranks of serious contention after catching the Russians off-guard. Some sources say they must have had help. Others said "No, they just considered the options and made the best choices." Still others said "I didn't realize Poland was still around."
ENGLISH PRESS: England still looking to make serious advances in Europe! All sailors and soldiers on alert. There are no friends in battle. Only targets!
ENGLISH PRESS: London: Lord Protector Cromwell was seen storming about the City, throwing oaths right and left, or should we say "droite et a gauche." He stomped into Parliament and shouted "Those @(!!(_# Frogs hopping from one place to the next are making my...er...England's forces chase their tails around like some #@(@)! cat. And I HATE cats almost as much as I hate the French! If I don't see some progress against those tunic-lifting Gauls heads will roll at the Tower! Just don't give me any more guff about logistics and manpower. I've raised more soldiers and ships. DO something with them!"
In other news, the Philosophical Society of Oxford, consisting of eminent natural scientists and scholars, held their first public exhibition of their current research and inventions, including a device that turns the pages of a book while your hands are full of food; a taxonomy of for classifying and studying human wind; and a hopefully repeated demonstration of flyin
