*Italians Kick France Out of Ionian*
*Vienna inevitably Falls*
*Demonstrators Urge World Peace*

Hey all,

I think we all expected Vienna to fall this season, though Turkey put up a valiant defense. The really interesting change, though, was Italy regaining control of the Ionian. This dislodged the Ionian fleet, allowing it to retreat to Eastern Med. In the midst of all this wholesale carnage, peace is proposed once again, with an E/F draw on the table. Does it have any hope of success this time around? Only time will tell.

Also, today should begin round two of the Blitz. Typically they do a good job of mixing up players, so it's unlikely any of you will be together again, but there's a fair chance I might be on a board with one or two of you (either as a player or GM). I'm looking forward to it. This one has been a good game so far, and you guys have done a great job getting those orders in on time! And of course, there are no hard cut-offs to the round one game, so we can keep this one going for as long as it takes! There appears to be three round one games still going on.

Also, Since French F Ionian could only retreat to Eastern Med, I took the liberty of doing so. OTB is always an option. If I don't hear anything by 8:00 AM CST tomorrow, the retreat to Eastern Me d will stand. Besides that, Moves and votes are due thursday at 8:00 AM CST (13:00 GMT).

John
