No clever quotes today. But no quotes are really needed. The drama of the game is its own reward. Of course, the draw proposals fail. Nobody has been so optimistic as to propose any for the Spring.

The English solo bid takes multiple hits. Losses in Moscow, Rumania, Saint Petersburg, and Spain are only partly offset by gains in Berlin and Belgium (and probably Portugal). The disbanding of his Bulgarian army may stymie future Eastern gains. And the English fleet advanced into Western Mediterranean will probably not stay long. On the other hand, he still has multiple builds stockpiled from last year.

Meanwhile, Austria is resplendent! This will be a plus-three year (though his army in Budapest blocks a potential build). He has breathed new life with this latest turn of events.
