PREV  Fall 962 Adjudication:  NEXT

Fall 962: Winter is near and even on the island of Palermo the Norse Fleet starts to feel a chill.
Wait a minute! Since when are the Norse bothered with a bit of cold wind, especially in the heart of the Mediterranean? That would be a first. Hmm, perhaps it's then the advancing Roman fleets that gave them the shivers.
So guess what the Norse did? Like anyone else would do: warm themselves at a cozy fire of Palermo wood ! Until the Roman fleet from the Libyan Sea with support from the neighbouring Romans on the island of Syracuse, finish any Norse they can find.

But that's not the only thing worth mentioning. For the first time in years there seems to be a change, or at least a little shift, in the balance of Powers.
Nowhere along the Praha, Graz and Venezia borders has fighting erupted between Romans and Burgundians. Is this just clever deployment of the Burgundian units or could this be a sign of an upcoming truce? The attack on Pisa and Tyrrhenian Sea however seem to contradict this. A surprise is further east in the Roman empire that the Slavs take Kaffa from the Romans. Seems to contradict the pact the Slavs and Romans demonstrate in Breslau to keep it out of the hands of the Swedes. Thus the Slavs can deploy their units to force the Swedes out of Gdansk. The Swedes are successful against Slavs elsewhere though: they force the Slavs out of Karelia. Almost a one for one trade except that Gdansk is a SC whereas Karelia is not.

Retreats are required for 3 Powers at the end of Fall 962. See below.
