Game over!

I think we could all read the writing on the wall as of sometime oh, about when the spring results came out - that this one was only gonna end happy for one person. And that person is none other than the great solomaster himself -- Congrats Dirk! This marks Dirks 4th --- YES FOURTH --- Solo victory for games Dirk has played in 2011. What? How many games had he even played in 2011, I hear you ask? Well the answer to that is eight leaving Dirk batting .500 for knocking games out of the park. And he was *surprised* to find out he qualified for this year's DCI as having the hottest record...

What else happened in this game? Well, I took it over in the spring of 952, after Frank ran it for only about a year... Frank? Whatever did happen to you? I truly hope all is ok and we see you return to play again... My first order of business was finding a new Svierge, which was quickly picked up by Hoffman who was happy to take on his 9th replacement game. Nicely done, Mr H managed to recover a position hard hit by the Slavic Nations, and make it clear to the end as one of the final five. The Slaivc Nations were probly the hardest hit by the replacement, since Doug ran into major problems with the Svierge once he was stabbed by Dirk's ERE. Perhaps being caught between the two made for just too many fronts to defend, and the powerful Slavic Nations went into decline.

The west had its own share of battles, but none quite as decisive - with many stalemate lines being drawn, and then adhered to as if everyone's life depended on it. This saw Mikael of France and Warren of Burgundy faced off for what seemed like forever against Brian of the Norge. They did manage to squeeze out some powers that never really got momentum... Both Rene's Danes and Jim's Arab Caliphates went into decline early on... With Rene peaking out at 9 centers, and Jim never getting above his starting 8.

EOG's welcome!
Enjoy,
-mike
