Imperial 1841 ~ Manefested Destiny - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The .map file didn't have Holland connected to the correct coast of Kiel and the latest orders from Spain were not used; this corrects those problems. The corrected RealWorld .map file and the updated .Zip are available at: http://mainecav.org/diplomacy
Please also take note of coasts in your orders. If you use RealWorld, you can simply cut-n-paste your orders

DC172 Midsummer Night's Stab - Winter 1604 - Henry... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; or close the wall up with our English dead!
And the selection of English dead begins in Wales. Meanwhile Sweden disbands in Mecklenburg, the Danes split their builds and the Spanish Empire builds an army in Granada.
That brings the curtain down on another season for us, folks. We'll groove on into the Spring of 1605. Deadline will be set for Monday, July 14th (11:59 PM GMT).
Cheers!

dc179 Blackmarch F04 GM ERROR - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
All,
Living proof that GMs are quite human - I misinterpreted the results and stated that Russia could retreat AND still get a build.
That was in fact WRONG; he could retreat OR get a build. I have asked him to re-evaluate his retreat to discern
whether he wants that or a build. Thus we are delayed for 24 hours.
This is COMPLETELY my error. As such, I am willing to ALSO re-evaluate builds submitted depending on Russia's choice.
IF Russia chooses to retreat in lieu of a build, we shall all know and I will need build confirmations [as well as retreats] from England,
Italy and Germany. I am VERY sorry for the delay and trouble.

Okay...several different scenarios here:
Austrian F Bul(sc) is forced to retreat. I retreated to the only option
AEG but then he needed a disband so I took it since the unit in Gre
occuppied a center. IF THIS IS NOT OKAY, let me know. You could
keep the F in AEG and disband Gre as an alternative.
Russian F Swe is forced to retreat. He has options - Fin, GoB, or OTB
[off the board]. IF OTB, then you will get 2 builds instead of 1.
French A Spa is disbanded by the GM.
We can take these retreats first. Due to me about to leave to see family for the US holiday [where I don't have the program to adjudicate], these are due Sunday the 6th at 5pm CST. Then we will have 48 hours for the builds/disbands [until Tuesday the 8th at 5pm CST]. IF you want to go ahead and send orders for builds/disbands without seeing the retreats, you may do so. If I get orders all marked final before Tuesday then I will go ahead and proceed. If not, update coming Sunday.

DC161 Knights Who Say Ni! - Spring 833 - Llamas - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The llama is a quadruped which lives in the big rivers like the Amazon. It has two ears, a heart, a forehead, and a beak for eating honey. But it is provided with fins for swimming.
Heya gang. Apologies about not getting this out last night - had to deal with a personal situation that took up most of the night. Without further fanfare though, here is the Spring 833 adjudication. The Bretons and the Anglo-Saxons continue to play hopscotch while the Scots manage to forestall another Swedish amphibian landing.
No retreats are required - we battle onwards into Fall 833. However, we have a little delay ahead of us while one of our number is on vacation. Deadline for the Fall orders will be set for a couple weeks time - on Saturday, July 26th (11:59 PM GMT). Hope everyone has a great little break.
Cheers folks!

DC143 fall 1908 results! - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
France attempts to hold back the advancing Austrian army in both St. Petersburg and Munich. However, it seems that Germany is expecting -- if the game continues -- to be squashed by France with the game ending in a 2-way 17-center draw. So the Kaiser casts a decisive vote for an Austrian solo, not by word but by deed. Germany orders his army in Munich to move and supports Austria's move into that now-vacated center, and also cuts France's support for the Russian fleet.
Austria wins the game, having taken control of 18 centers following the fall 1908 moves. Congratulations, Niklas!
I would also like to thank the rest of our players for an intriguing game. The final RP file and game map are both attached for your reference. I hope to see you again in another game soon.

P.S. for Mike Sims: This game map is ready for the Hall of Games.

DC191 A Study In Baltic - Fall 1902 - The Boscombe... - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
The ship rollicked its way through the English Channel, the salty channel spray misting the faces of all those on deck. Watson stood at the rail breathing in deeply, enjoying the motion of the ship. The trip was bringing back memories of his time in the service, and for a moment he stood deep in remembrance of his youthful warrior days.
His internal reverie was interrupted by Holmes, tsking loudly as he lay stretched out in the deck chair nearby. "Tut tut," he exclaimed. "How could they be so dull-witted?"
"What is that, Holmes?" Watson wandered over and asked. His friend pointed to the front page article on the Times, a copy of which he had found lying on the table.
"This mystery destruction of the Russian fleet in the Boscombe Valley." Holmes explained. "Here they credit the Fins for it and marvel at how they could have pulled it off. Yet it is no big stretch to see how it happened. That nearby fleet the Swedes have lurking abouts was the true arbiter of the affair. Obviously, the Finnish would have found themselves evenly matched if not for Swedish support. It's quite elementary..."
---------------------------------------------------
Apologies for not getting this out last night, fellas. A somewhat personal matter came up that required the evening's attention. However, hopefully the short delay is not too off-putting. =)
In the west, the Polish and the Swedes bare their teeth at each other but no aggressive moves are made... Meanwhile, the action in the East intensifies as the Russians lose a unit in Helsingfors and the Polish make a surprise foray into West Dvina.
No retreats are required after the Fall action, leading into Winter 1902. Poland gains two units, Sweden gains one. Deadline for Winter adjustments will be set for Friday, July 11th (11:59 PM GMT).
Please let me know if you spot any errors. Cheers!

DC183 Fall 1905 moves - test_gm (Sep 13, 2007, 12:00 am) |
Significant developments this turn, as France feels the pinch from a wave of Italian attacks, and fails in an attempt to get onto English soil. We also say goodbye to Turkey - thanks to Francis for playing this one through.
Two retreats from England - as one retreat (from NTH) only has one option (HEL) and the other (from KIE) has two options (KIE and HEL), one of which is a duplicate of the other retreat, I've taken the liberty of retreating NTH to HEL and KIE to BAL. Can Joao please indicate in the next 24 hours if he doesn't want to go through with these retreats.
Otherwise I need the following adjustments by 2000 GMT on Friday 11th July - France disband 2, England disband 3 (possibly less depending on retreats), Italy build 3 and Russia build 3. I'll remove the last Turkish force automatically.
Thanks
Michael
