dc395 Spring 12 adjudication - jerome777   (Mar 09, 2012, 5:00 am)
Hi everyone, Apologies for the late adjudication - my flight home last night was delayed and I was too knackered to think straight when I got home. Anyway, here's the moves for Spring 1912: Austria:
A Albania - Greece
A Bulgaria Supports A Albania - Greece
A Rumania Hold
A Serbia Supports A Albania - Greece
F Trieste - Venice England:

A London - Holland
F North Sea Convoys A London - Holland
A Paris - Burgundy
A Picardy Supports A Paris - Burgundy
F Skagerrak Supports F Sweden
A St Petersburg Supports A Ukraine - Moscow
F Sweden Hold Italy:
F Aegean Sea Supports F
Tyrrhenian Sea - Ionian Sea
A Bohemia - Silesia
F Gulf of Lyon, no move received
A Spain, no move received
F Tyrrhenian Sea - Ionian Sea
A Ukraine - Moscow
A Venice - Tyrolia Russia:
F Baltic Sea - Sweden (*Fails*)
A Denmark Supports F Baltic Sea - Sweden
F Eastern Mediterranean - Smyrna (*Fails*)

A Moscow Supports A Warsaw (*Dislodged*)
A Munich - Burgundy (*Fails*)
A Warsaw Supports A Moscow Turkey:
F Black Sea - Constantinople
A Sevastopol Supports A Ukraine - Moscow

pretty simple decision I will adjudicate it as soon as Daniel confirms it as final. Autumn 1912 will be due Monday 19 March 2100GMT.  best Jerome

dc410 winter vote to end - catsfather   (Mar 09, 2012, 4:00 am)
Yes, if the AFG vote succeeds then England, Italy, Russia, and Turkey
would each get 4 points for surviving plus 0.1 point per SC owned.
It should also be noted that the votes will be tallied in the Spring.
It seems I shouldn't have allowed a Winter vote. So, must have this
Winter and the AFG will be voted upon in the Spring. However, any
voting intention sent between yesterday's adjudication and the Spring
adjudication will be recorded. So, if you voted yesterday then
(unless you tell me otherwise) that's the vote I'll take on Monday.
Blimey.
To repeat what I said in my previous email, not receiving a vote from
England, or Turkey will be taken as a vote in favour of the AFG.

There a vote to award the victory to Austria - France - and Germany.
Vote Yes by Friday 18:00GMT if in favour.  A No vote, or not voting =
No.

An NMR from Turkey will be treated as a Yes vote.  No vote from any
other power (even if they had no build/remove orders to submit) will
be treated as a No vote.

dc410 NMRs and the draw proposals - catsfather   (Mar 09, 2012, 3:51 am)
I was asked to re-check the position with NMRs and end of game
proposals. It seems I was wrong and, as of that Fall, England's NMR
should be taken as a Yes vote. Thankfully (for me), after re-checking
the votes I find that all four proposals still failed.
Until they submit a Spring, or Fall order, any NMR from England will
now be taken as a Yes vote.

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. and sometimes you didn't want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing. The shadow, even the darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you - That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going because they were holding onto something."

"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

dc410 winter vote to end - MDemagogue   (Mar 08, 2012, 8:19 pm)
If I had your position I'd be at 18 by now, but I don't so I'll do as I please.  Clearly there's some sort of grand strategy in vacating Edi which would have been a third build and moving your army in tyrolia out of position back to munich.  But, hey, I'm not complaining.

It doesn't matter anyways.  England's probably too busy doing whatever to be bothered to send an email stating yes.  Also, I'm not one to reward people for acting as adjuncts to the dominant power, so I vote no.  Saves Germany the trouble of doing it.  Good luck on your solo Will, you haven't earned it.

DC412 WB12 Rd1 - Fall 1907 Results - Corrino   (Mar 08, 2012, 7:24 pm)
Episode 14 - The DC412 Clip Show

This is the episode where the writers all go on holiday so the characters just sit around and reminisce about the funny and/or poignant things that happened in the past.  We've all had our moments, that's for sure.  Do you remember...How everybody who was anybody invaded France to start the festivities? When the crazy ArchDuck tried to build a second army in Budapest? And then the next year lost the first one by forgetting to retreat?Germany and England hooking up?The Brunch episode?Turkey and Italy hooking up?The Patchwork Bear? The ghost fleet of the Ionian? The Royal Holiday?
The Bohemian Bypass (Nein,
Herr Officer.  I haff not been drinking.)Germany and England hooking up?Turkey and Italy hooking up?The Russian court-in-exile in Vienna? The double-dunking of two fleets just this past Spring?
Which brings us to the present campaign season, Fall of 1907, in which a great many orders were issued and a great many units struggled mightily but across the entire continent of Europe there was exactly ONE unit that changed position.  Congratulations to Germany fleet Norwegian Sea, which successfully steamed into the North Atlantic Ocean!  The rest of you -- better luck next time!
RETREATS:    None
ADJUSTMENTS:    Yes, actually.  Thanks to their mutual fleet annihilation in the Spring, both England and Italy may rebuild one unit back home.  See below for complete
SC ownerships and Adjustment details.

NEXT DEADLINE:    Winter 1907 orders are due by 18:00 tomorrow night, Friday, March 9.

Cheers,Chris

Vote Yes by Friday 18:00GMT if in favour.  A No vote, or not voting =

An NMR from Turkey will be treated as a Yes vote.  No vote from any

If I had your position I'd be at 18 by now, but I don't so I'll do as I please.  Clearly there's some sort of grand strategy in vacating Edi which would have been a third build and moving your army in tyrolia out of position back to munich.  But, hey, I'm not complaining.

Blimey, what permutations could there be for the winter?  Assuming
none of those are OTB (and don't forget that a French fleet and an
Italian army could take each other OTB in their retreat) then the
winter orders required are:

England removes one.
France builds two.
Germany builds two.
Italy removes one.
Russia removes two.

Sorry, Austria also has a build. Please, please, please check your
own situation. As Austria has found out ... this is too confusing for

Just so you all know, Winter adjudication won't take place until about
21:00GMT. You may send in changes to your retreats, builds, and
removals up until I actually do the adjudication, but remember that
I've said *about* 21:00GMT. I'll accept to grumbles if I adjudicate
at 20:55 just minutes before you were going to post your epic build
order.

Dc 413 F07 Results! - untitled36   (Mar 08, 2012, 8:41 am)
 *Everyone Survives!*
*Draw Fails, but is Proposed Again!*
*Lots of Winter Changes!*

Hey all,

So, suprisingly, every player holds on to life for another year. Edinburgh and Warsaw remained untouched. And the draw fails, but is reproposed, so since just about everyone has builds/disbands due, let's make the draw due tomorrow for winter. We also have two retreats needed. German A Ber can retreat to Pru or OTB. Turkish A Stp can retreat to Fin, Liv, or OTB. As usual builds can be made conditional based on the results of those retreats.

Winter:
Austria: +2
England: even
France: +1
Germany: -1 (or even if Ber retreats otb)
Italy: +1
Russia: even
Turkey: -2 (or -1 if Stp retreats otb)

Remember to vote on the FAI Draw, even if you don't have builds/disbands!

Thanks all! see ya tomorrow!

dc410 deadline approaching - catsfather   (Mar 08, 2012, 1:23 am)
Deadline for Fall moves is 18:00GMT tonight.
There's a proposal to award Germany the solo. Vote Yes if in favour.
There seem to be a number of other proposals that have sprung up too.
Vote Yes with the combinations and I'll try to figure out what's what.
Turkey has NMRd for 4 springs, so an NMR from then will be taken as a
Yes vote. Any other NMRs will be taken as a No vote.

First things first -- all of the proposals failed, it seems no one is quite ready to stop playing yet.  and who can blame them with the fun we're having?  Germany slips a fleet into the North Atlantic unseen as if it were a submarine.  France takes Denmark through shear force.  Turkey and Germany trade Moscow and St. Petersburg.

We also have yet another proposal--for a French solo.  Votes due with Fall orders.

French F Ionian Sea can retreat to Tunis or Apulia.
Alex get this to me marked final and I'll adjudicate immediately.

dc410 - reminder of the Objection to Time Travel r... - catsfather   (Mar 07, 2012, 12:30 pm)
Gentlemen, it has come to my attention that one of our number has been
engaging in time travel. I wish to remind you all that the use of any
form of time travel into the future for the purposes of viewing
adjudications before returning to this time and entering your own
orders, or time travel into the past to convince your earlier self
that a stab is imminent is forbidden. May I also remind you that the
Time Lords, when there were more than one, took a dim view of such
"messing".
Your GM, Hamish, still stuck in Wednesday.
