dc-408 - stendaswargames (Jan 29, 2012, 11:27 pm) |
I will be away in the bush from Wednesday 1 – Friday 3 February with no connection as I am not taking my laptop.
I will give in orders with conditional retreats, but I will not be able to negotiate for three days! Hope it’s not my downfall! Gulp!

No time for chatter today. I'm home with a sick child. But anything you read on the map is guaranteed to be better than chirpy GM musings. So, read that map!
There are two retreats, due tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. CST.
The first is:
English F North Sea can retreat to Edinburgh or Norwegian Sea or
Norway or Skagerrak or Helgoland Bight or Holland.
The second unit auto-retreats:
Turkish A Greece can retreat to Bulgaria.
If Gareth prefers, he can order A Greece disbands, so long as he submits it by 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. Otherwise, the unit automatically retreats to Bulgaria without him having to order it. That's an auto-retreat.

Hmm, time to get our orders in? Sorry, I've been quite busy on my Dip time getting ready to run the Diplomacy tournament at TempleCon, February 3-5 in Providence, RI (http://www.templecon.org/12), but I gotta get some orders in. Can I get a bit of slack next week with deadlines, Mr. GM? Any chance any of you are close enough to here to think about coming??
Also, you've all undoubtedly heard about my "Drive for 330" for WorldDipCon in August in Chicago http://windycityweasels.org/wdc ? I've only met a handful of you, and I'd love to meet you all there.

So I got this out only an hour and a half after deadline, not half bad. There's an even split of fleets and armies, but interestingly, every place that could build fleets did, so only landlocked centers got armies. Hi All,
The First year draws to a close. Some alliances are now obvious, some enemies defined. What will Year 02 bring to the Haven?
Reminder for next builds: your home centers AND the Eternal Build centers (marked with a "circled plus" like Telmar) can be used.
The next Deadline is supposed to be Monday 1/30. That seems a bit short (due to the crisis early in the week), but if you can handle the timeframe, we'll stick to it. Do you guys think one set of moves per week is too fast???
Prelim Deadlines (FINAL, unless someone complains):
Spring 02 --> Monday, 1/30
Retreats --> Tuesday, 1/31
Fall 02 --> Monday, 2/6
Retreats --> Tuesday, 2/7
Winter 02 --> Wednesday, 2/8
Please let me know ASAP if you'd like some adjustments to this schedule.

Please, let me have got this set right. Check them and get back to me.
I cannot apologise enough for this.
Builds are due later today. I've set my deadline as 6pm, but we're
allowed a 4-hour window. So, tonight's build deadline will be 9pm ...
which then gives me a little time before the window closes.

Cheers,Jim-Bob

Hi Players,
So far so good. Two turns, no NMRs. That puts us maybe 10% of the way to perfect for the game.

Episode 2 - Paint it Black
Summer in Burgundy is nice, but when Winter comes around, a good German boy needs his beer, jah? And if he can't be home in Bavaria for Christmas, he can at least enjoy the fruits -- well, grains, actually -- of the master brewers in Belgium, Holland and Denmark. Yes, those loveable Germans are now rolling stoned all along the North Sea beaches
of the continent.
Elsewhere in Europe.... the Turks take their kaffee Black. the Italians are denied service in Marseilles. the Brits and Russians run hot and cold. and nobody promotes boinking like the Greeks
RETREATS: None
ADJUSTMENTS: Everybody gets something. Hurrah! See the table below for SC Ownership and Adjustment figures.
NEXT DEADLINE: Winter adjustments are due tomorrow, Friday, January 27, at 18:00 EST. Don't be late!
Cheers,Chris
