DC 373: Winter 1912 - AceRimmer   (Sep 22, 2011, 8:46 am)
Austria builds armies in Budapest and Trieste
Germany disbands his Swedish barbarians
Spring 1913 is due next Thursday.
Schedule note: I know my own reduced schedule does not help (basically, I'm only available to adjudicate on Tu, Th, F)... but that's been exacerbated by some players asleep at the wheel. Please get orders in on time. [Indeed, if I read the pulse of this game correctly, we might actually speed it up if every player were to mark orders FINAL... remember, all Spring/Fall orders are presumed prelim unless otherwise marked. Then again, given the Russian retreat and the German disband, you may still be cherishing your time for negotiation].
Spring 1913 is due next Thursday, September 29th.

DC 387: Italian retreat - Blueraider0   (Sep 21, 2011, 3:57 pm)
TyS retreats to Rom, which is a valid retreat because Rom to Ven worked and there was no stand off in Rom.

As I
expected, things seem to be moving again after a few somewhat stagnant turns.
In the spring, the stalemate around Constantinople was broken, and this fall
Britain responds to the certain loss of its Scandinavian centers by turning
south. As a result, Saxony is finally eliminated. So this is goodbye to Ray.
Thank you for playing. You did an excellent job surviving with a single unit
as long as you did. The British moves to United Provinces and North Atlantic
Ocean seemingly signal a change in the relationship between Britain and
France, a change that France was perhaps not expecting. And does Russia's
support of Britain to Hanover mean these erstwhile enemies will now ally, or
just that Dirk was ready to see Saxony eliminated? Things do seem to be
getting interesting again.

I need adjustment orders from everyone who
is still alive except Warren. They are due by Thursday at 22:00 GMT. The
possibilities are:
Austria:   Builds   3 units. (Can
only build in Budapest, thus 2 builds will be
unused)
Britain:    Builds   1 unit. (Can build in
Edinburgh, Liverpool, or London)
Russia:
Builds   2 units. (Can build in Crimea, Kiev, Moscow, or St.
Petersburg)
Sweden:  Builds   1 unit. (Can build in
Stockholm)
Turkey:    Removes  1 unit.

dc389 game end - France EOG - briankingfox   (Sep 20, 2011, 8:52 pm)
Dear All

Thanks Mike for GMing the game. And thanks for all players
that we have NO NMR in this game, this is probably my first game with no NMR.
Great job!

France and England have been working together since the
beginning of the game. Perhaps the first German Kaiser didn't talk and the
second Kaiser's suggestions are not attractive, I choose to stick with England.
Frankly, I don't totally trust England, and so I moved into MAO in 1902 for
defensive purpose. But it ended look like I am going to take England
and make England not happy. I had been thought through this for nights, but
finally I choose not to do so because I see Turkey is in big trouble facing
attacks from other three.

I worry there was a triple alliance among Russia, Austria and
Italy, so I decided to enter Mediterranean and encourage Austria to attack Italy
with me and stab Russia. I also told England that the likely triple alliance and
suggested to hold our Maginot line at Germany and focus
on Scandinavia. But unfortunately, England chose to stab me, while Austria
and Russia kept working together throughout the game.

Should Russia did not attack England in mid-game, I believe I
would have defeated by England. Yet Russia's attack bring England and I re-ally
again. I thought that if we stand together, Austria will stab Russia one day for
Solo Victory, and England and France would stop Solo and ended with 3-way draw.
But the expected stab never comes.

The game finally draw at the Maginot line I had proposed.

If I had stabbed England in early game, but provided that the
triple alliance (or Austro-Russian alliance) stay close, the result would be
likely 2-way draw as well...

I really want to know how Austria and Russia think
during the game.

Thanks for all, and have a nice stab/stick in future
game!

Brian

Just like that, we have a
2-way A-R draw.  5 votes in favor.  Congrats guys!  That was a
fantastic bit of teamwork there... EOG statements welcome by all.
Personally I'd have liked to see it play out, and make the two benefactors prove
they wouldn't stab the other.  Now we'll never know... But a Win is a Win,
and a Survival is a Survival, especially for Italy who hangs on by a dot down to
his last turn.

DC 373: Update - AceRimmer   (Sep 17, 2011, 11:15 am)
It seems that Mark is still tangled up with other issues, because he has not yet sent a retreat. That's fine.
If you want to get a jump start on Winter adjustments, you can (though if you prefer to wait for retreats, I fully understand). Anyway, those adjustments are: two builds for Austria and maybe a disband for Germany.

Seismic - kevinokelly   (Sep 16, 2011, 6:28 pm)
I LOVE Seismic, however, the cast of characters is shaping up to be a repeat of the last Seismic, which isn't good for me. Smile Steve Cap will replace Steve the Penguin. Can anyone get Trout back on the list? Or will a new fish be caught in Warren's net. Warren's net, you may ask... well just look at DC99 and you'll know why I bring that up. It was a classic game.

Can't wait for this one to start!
