Diplomats,
Small changes in the ownership of centers this year, as England helps Russia out in the north, Italy takes the last remaining neutral center and Austria manages to wrest Bulgaria from the Turkish forces. The Turkish army does not have anywhere to retreat to and is moved off the board.
We have one retreat due and three (or four) build orders. Remember that you may order conditional builds depending on the retreat.
Autumn Retreats: German F Denmark can retreat to Skagerrak, Helgoland Bight, Kiel or OTB.

DC332 Diplohabit - Spring 1905 Results - cfisher6 (Sep 05, 2010, 6:53 pm) |
Guys,
An eventful Spring season. Bounces abound, Italy's under attack! Venice is invaded by German troops with the support of the Austrians while the Turks continue a streak of surprising convoys by sending Bulgaria into the Apullian countryside. Russian naval units in Sweden dock in Norway and the French push the German navy out of the North Sea.
There is one retreat this round, the German fleet in the North Sea can retreat to Norwegian Sea or Skagerrak or Helgoland Bight or Holland.
The deadline for Summer retreats is Tuesday at 23:59, though Jason if you get me your moves earlier and are ok I can adjudicate it quicker so we can move on to Fall 1905. Please let me know in your message if you're fine with speeding it up.

DC319: Winter 1942 Retreats/Adjustments - charlesf (Sep 05, 2010, 4:11 pm) |
Hi guys,
first of all, let me note that Kyle's late orders had the grace
period provision kick in. Right now, it appears that armies are
à la mode, whereas Britain's squadrons outside home waters were
scrapped. Tough times for England - at least off the pitch.
Though on the pitch Capello's boys have scored an impressive 4-0
against Bulgaria (hm, Bulgaria brings up traumatic '94 memories
for us Germans). Are the Three Lions gonna repeat their record
with an impressive qualifying campaign only to then fizzle out
in the following tournament? I wonder.
But I digress... We have a game-end proposal on the table,
namely a four-way German-Italian-Polish-Turkish draw. So please
include your votes with your orders for the upcoming season that
is to be adjucated this coming Wednesday, 8 September.
Good luck in 1943!
Charles

Any GM interested in starting a Colonial Game - garry.bledsoe (Sep 03, 2010, 3:09 pm) |
Not sure if you know or not but for a MAC you actually have to go and change the extension of the file when you download a .dpy file from the DC site. The Mac tries to do the "right-click" download as a .dpy.txt file and thus opens it with a document type of program. Rename the file without the .txt and you can open it in RP.
Hope that helps.[Reply] |

Awesome! What action! I like watching it as a player; it is quite entertaining. Based on the current direction, I am betting that this game has much life left in it.
We do have several retreats and we will have quite a few adjustments after that. Let's do our retreats first:
German F BAL can retreat to Lvn, Pru, Ber or OTBRussian A Ser can retreat to Rum, Alb or OTBItalian F TYS can retreat to Rom, Nap, Tun or OTB
Let's have retreats by Tuesday at 6pm CST. From there we will do Winter adjustments for Thursday the 9th at 6pm CST.
Preliminary adjustment info is:
Austria - no changeEngland - build 1France - build 1Germany - remove 2 unless F BAL retreats OTB (then only remove 1)Italy - no change unless F TYS retreats OTB (then build 1)Russia - build 1 unless A Ser retreats OTB (then build 2)

dc306 f76 - brutal - FuzzyLogic (Sep 03, 2010, 11:02 am) |
It's a brutal world out ther folks, especially if you're a Hojo. Losing Mus and Ssh, the Hojo drop from 6 to 4! Fortunately with the auto-disband in the spring, they need only remove one to round out the winter... Lucky them! Turnabout being fair play, the Uesugi suffer some positional losses in their naval blockade, losing the port city of Kaga to the Mori.
Neutral: With conflicting offers from both the Asakura and the Uesugi, the lone neutral in Hitachi throws up arms and refuses to help either.
5 of 6 players have an order due this winter! Due Tuesday 9/7, 3pm Central!
Mori: Build 1
Chosokabe: Build 1
Asakura: Build 2
Uesugi: Build 1
Hojo: Remove 1
There were a few draw proposals for next spring, I'll detail those w the winter results.

Kon, if you need more time I'd be glad to push it back a day or two more--just let me know!

DC319: Fall 1942 Moves - charlesf (Sep 03, 2010, 7:14 am) |
Hi guys,
well, I had no idea archiving
emails would take half a lifetime... Well, I didn't manage to
lose any emails along the way to their new home.
Now, the fall season has been remarkably quiescent in many
theatres of operations, much of the more decisive manoeuvres
being centred in the North-West quadrant at the expense of
Britain, which has lost half of its supply centres this year.
I'm scheduling the Winter season
for Sunday, 5 September and the Spring moves for Wednesday, 8
September. I hope that works for you. If not, let me know.
Liebe Grüsse,
Charles

dc334 w02 builds! - FuzzyLogic (Sep 02, 2010, 7:38 pm) |
Player list for dc334
Here we go w retreats and builds!
Sparta: F North Cretan Sea - Gulf of Argolis
Athens: Build F Athens
Macedonia: NBR, Remove F Thracian Sea
Ionia: Build F Samos
Persia: Build A Halicarnassus, F Pergamum
Sparta: Build F Zarax
Thessalia: Build F Pherae
NEXT: Spring 03 due Wed 9/8, 3pm Central!
With 2 years done, let me take a moment to suggest prelims…
I know a few of you guys are new, but the best Diplomacy habit you can get into
is the habit of using prelims! (that, and talk to every player every
round) When you get results (aka NOW) pick what you think your most likely set,
and turn them in. Immediately. That way you’ve got at least
something turned in. As the turn progresses and you get a chance to talk
to ppl, you can revise as the deadline gets closer. But it’s really
seeming like I get up to the day of the deadline, and at least half of you don’t
have anything turned in! I’ve been a bit lax in this game knowing
it’s got quite a few newcomers – but in a game of regulars
you would not get that leeway!
Now with a 2nd year done, I *am* going to start running
the turns right at the deadlines. I usually do this in every game…
(except when I’m slacking off or late)
Let me also point out that no game is ever lost! Even w a
couple units left… The DC Invitational was won this year by a Turkey who
got stuck on 3 centers for the first 10 years of the game!
GM spiel – OUT!

Hi guys,
I've just got my new personal laptop delivered and
will do the adjucation once I've transferred my data from my old rickety
machine. Just thought I'd give you a heads-up.
