DC 312 Summer 1905 adjucation - untitled36   (Apr 27, 2010, 10:40 am)
It was designated. I merely omitted it when I typed it. But actually, it would be valid in any case because the coast is clear (ha! "the coast is clear!" I kill me...). The coastal designation is only REQUIRED when moving INTO a coastal province where you can reach both coasts (like F Con-Bul for example). Otherwise, the intent is clear and the rules state that even poorly abbreviated or written orders still stand if the intent is clear. Obviously, I prefer coastal designations at all times, but in this instance, even though they were given appropriately, I would have adjucated the same even if they had not been.

DC 285 Winter 295 results - AceRimmer   (Apr 27, 2010, 10:34 am)
Alex,
I would like to propose a two-way EP draw to be voted upon with the upcoming Spring orders (due tomorrow). And since the proposer of a draw must needs vote on it: I vote yes.

(DC 324) A Stab in the Dark - Game Start - Corrino   (Apr 27, 2010, 10:27 am)
I have received all the confirmations and preferences.  Thus... it begins!

The next message you receive will tell you your country assigment.  I was able to give out three top choices, two second choices, one third choice and one fourth choice.  Not too bad.

Deadline:

I had intended to have our first deadline next week on Tuesday, but it seems to me that we're all pretty eager to get started.  Perhaps we can get up and going right away?

I propose that our first year deadlines be slightly accelerated:

WINTER 1900/SPRING 1901:  Wednesday 4/28, 8 pm Eastern US time

SUMMER 1901 (if needed):  Thursday 4/29, 12 noon

FALL 1901:  Friday 4/30, 8 pm

If anyone has a problem with these let me know and I'll bump out the deadlines, but this is going to be the easiest season for you and me, so I think we can do it.

Good luck, and have fun!

Chris

DC 298 EoG proposal - untitled36   (Apr 27, 2010, 10:20 am)
Ok, The two proposals are a F/I/R and a DIAS. Also, the DC people say: "Any country that has recorded an NMR for the last 4 consecutive spring or fall adjudications will automatically vote YES on any EGP." This supercedes the other ruling about Civil disorder. So if England continues to NMR, you have to wait until spring 1918, or until his elimination, I think.

Now of course, England may jump in at any time, so there it that. And also, don't take me as saying England is the only block to any draws. I make no comment on whether the draw would have succeeded or failed had it not been for England. Just so that's clear.

DC 298 EoG proposal (Winter Blitz) chknbrstl Apr 27, 10:43 pm
Hi Guys.

Back from a few days in Warsaw, but from Thursday on until
Monday (Tuesday) I’ll be back on the road.  First the UK, then onto
Frankfurt (or Cologne), a stop in JFK on Monday / Tuesday(?) and then hopefully
home.  A Rio trip is slated for Tuesday, but I’m hoping someone else
can take that one out.  Needless to say I’m bouncing around more
than I could have expected two months ago.  Please accept my apologies,
but I need to make hay while the sun shines.  If it’s all right with
John I will tender a infinite yes vote to any DIAS at any time...

Hey all,

England is a no show again. I also received a couple end game proposals,
but there was some confusion over one of them, so I am in contact with
that player and will let you know the result.

A couple notes about end game proposals, since I'm sure you are
wondering. According to the default House rules for the DC site
(which I am following), less inclusive draws take precedence over more
inclusive draws, so if a E/F draw and a DIAS were both proposed and
both passed, the E/F draw would be the actual result. Also, since the
last vote was at least partially sabatoged by an NMR, I thought I'd expound on
that a bit. The DC house rules place a country in Civil Disorder after
NMRing for two consecutive major seasons. If a country is in CD and does
not vote on a proposal, but everyone else votes yes, then the draw/concession
will pass. I'm going to double check some of this with the DC people, but
I think that means that if England is a no show in the fall, all draws will
still fail, but if he is a no show in the spring his lack of voting would not
count against any draw proposals.

dc224 Fall 18 Clarification - Confusion in the Sto... - garry.bledsoe   (Apr 27, 2010, 9:40 am)
All,
Please allow me to clarify a few things because I think that there has been a spot of confusion and I want to make sure that we are all reading the same Chapter (and rules):

* EGP's are proposed at each turn. I will usually accept them for proposal even on minor turns (retreats and build/disband turns).
* EGP's are voted on with orders for each major turn (Spring and Fall).
* EGP votes are only final in the final submission of orders on each turn (whether public, semi-public or private).
* An absence of a vote, intentional or not, still constitutes a NO vote.
* If multiple EGP's are proposed and accepted, the most-inclusive one shall be accepted as the final draw.

* Orders NEED to be submitted for each turn in the event that all proposals fail.

All this to say - we have proposals on the table now. Those are to be voted on (or not); any NEW proposals will be published with Fall results but shall not be voted on until Spring.

Clear as mud? There seems to be a lot of talk and some confusion that is potentially leading to a lot of questions. I just thought it would be easier for me to outline the rules of our story.

Garry

Did the order include a coast designation? If not, it is not valid, per the rules. The adjudication

Bulgaria does have two coasts, and if the coast was not specified, the order should not be permitted to stand.

Dc302 Spring 1905 adjudication - psychosis1973   (Apr 27, 2010, 8:45 am)
You probably all know this already anyway, but just in case you didn't:
Per my rules, draws don't have to include all survivors. Anyone not included in a draw and with more than one unit on the board (those in civil disorder excepted) would receive a survival result.
On a separate note, whilst public voting is perfectly acceptable, it's by no means compulsory, and a private message to your GM on votes is all I need.
Not that I'm suggesting any of you would be so underhand as to publically vote in a different way to your private vote...

Agreed- this is a crazy proposal. A draw should include all
survivors. I vote against the proposal.

Guys,

isn't this a bit preposterous: a 3-Draw at this stage in the
game?

Actually I feel insulted by this EGP.

And why exclude Italy? Italy still stands a better chance
than Russia. Or was it because of the NMR?

Also funny that Turkey and Russia would want to share in a
Draw.

The more I think about this EGP I get the feeling someone
tries to humor us.

And we have a three way draw
proposal on the table...for a France/Russia/Turkey draw.  Votes with Fall
moves please - a unanimous yes is needed, with lack of a vote counting as a no,
and Austria being in civil disorder excluded from the vote.

Scott is of course correct.  Due to my late adjudication, I was in a hurry to get the adjudication out to you all and did not take much time to think about exactly when a 3 hour extension to the normal Deadline would occur.  I apologize for not taking a little more time to ensure I was giving you the right deadline time.  If this has confused anyone . . . please  add 3 hours to our normal deadline and you will be on time.  I apologize for any confusion this might have caused.

Well, you guys have waisted no time pillaging the now abandoned German Empire, while continuing the assaults on Dead France. We have two nations in CD at the moment, which, while disappointing, will no doubt make this game a whole lot easier for some of you. While all this goes on in Western Europe, the Turks manage to grab a few key spots in the South, kicking Austria out of his last stronghold in Vienna. Warren, you can retreat to either Bohemia or Galicia. John, your A Rum can go to Gal or Ukr.

dc-316 spring 1905 results! - coryfucius   (Apr 26, 2010, 5:48 pm)
France returns to the fray, but now Germany NMRs.  The England/Russia alliance pushes Germany out of Sweden, as France sails towards the British Isles.  The Italy/Russia alliance rolls over the isolated Turkish defender in Bulgaria, and Italian forces begin moving westward.

A total of 3 units are dislodged, but only 2 of them will survive the turn:
The German army in Burgundy may retreat to Marseilles, Paris, or OTB.
The German fleet in Sweden may retreat to Finland, Gulf of Bothnia, or OTB.
The Turkish army in Bulgaria has no valid retreats and is destroyed.

Scott, since both of your retreating units have multiple options, we'll have a Summer 1905 retreat phase - your retreat orders are due tomorrow, Tuesday 4/27 at 3pm Central (US) / 21:00 GMT.  Thanks!
