Ok, I am aware that the attachements are not being sent with my mail. I have rebooted my computer . . . twice, and it is still not sending. I have to assume that the problem is with GMail. I will try to send again tomorrow with attachments.
Thanks,

DC 282, Spring 1904 - alwayshunted (Jan 29, 2010, 7:23 pm) |
Hi folks.
You may have noticed that I did not send a reminder this turn. That is not on purpose, or out of spite, or any other reason like that. I simply didn't get to it and/or forgot. I TRY to send them, but please do not count on them! And please send preliminary orders! Send them now, as soon as you see this. It doesn't matter if you change them later, I won't get upset. I will get upset if you nmr.
Okay, lecture over... on to the game. England is a convoying fool this turn... his own armies, foreign armies... he does not discriminate. Some other interesting developments as well, as Russia advances in Austria, but looks over his shoulder and sees a yellow fleet landing in Sevastopol and blue ones hovering around his north coast. France moves into Germany AND Africa.
We have one retreat needed from Germany, but there is only one option so I have taken the liberty of moving it myself and moving on to fall. Sam, if you want to move it OTB just let me know and I can remove it.

Alright, so here we go. If the game wasn't interesting before, it's definitely there now. A few things to explain about the map. Notice whenever there is a unit in a sea zone that crosses over the edge, I've put an asterisk on one side and the unit on the other. That will be the practice going forward. Secondly, those territories that have been taken over have changed colour. Those that are white are still neutral. Those with stars are the places you can build (if they're your home centres). Finally, when there are units in need of retreat, I take them off the board, since OTB is assumed unless I hear otherwise. We've got one retreat to process and as soon as I get that, we'll be able to move on to the winter.

Blitzers,
I made a mistake in setting the next deadline. The WB games Spring turns are usually due on Mondays, but I set the deadline to Tuesday. I will not change the deadline, but I will make you aware of the fact that the Fall movement deadline will be a little shorter than usual. Here are the upcoming deadlines:
Spring 1904 Movement: Tuesday 2nd February
Summer 1904 Retreats: Wednesday 3rd February
Fall 1904 Movement: Thursday 4th February
Autumn/Winter 1904 Retreats/Adjustments: Friday 5th February
This will put us back on track with the rest of the games. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
/Fredrik |

Blitzers,
The orders are in, and unfortunately for Josh I seem to be missing orders from him once again. Josh - if you have a confirmation from me get in touch with me ASAP.
We have two seasons coming up in the next 24 hours. First off, we have two retreats:
Turkish A Constantinople can retreat to Ankara, Smyrna, or OTB.
Italian A Piedmont can retreat to Tuscany, Tyrolia, or OTB.
Then we have the adjustments. Please remember that you can make the adjustments conditional, depending on the retreats above. Note that the included map has both unit retreat OTB.
Austria: Grabs Venice and Constantinople. Can build two (2) new units.
England: Grabs Sweden and St. Petersburg. Can build two (2) new units.
France: Grabs Rome. Can build one (1) new unit.
Germany: Loses Sweden, but had one waived build, and therefore does not need any adjustments.
Italy: Loses Venice, Rome and Naples. Disbands three (3) units (or two if the retreat is OTB)
Russia: Loses St. Petersburg, and has to disband one (1) unit.
Turkey: Loses Constantinople, but gains Naples. Can build one (1) if the retreat is OTB.
Current standings after the winter:
Ownership:
Austria 8: Budapest, Bulgaria, Constantinople, Greece, Serbia, Trieste, Venice, Vienna.
England 7: Belgium, Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Norway, St Petersburg, Sweden.

DC 293: Winter 1903 Adjudication - AceRimmer (Jan 29, 2010, 10:19 am) |
We have lost many fine German units in the North, but fortunately many new English and Russian units have arrived to take their place. It's all part of the Greek-tragedy trajectory of Germany: from largest surviving power to smallest surviving power in on game year.
Spring 1904 will be due on Monday at 10:00 a.m. CST.

1648 091010: Long live the new King! - charlesf (Jan 29, 2010, 9:41 am) |
Hi guys,
I'm happy to announce Gabriele Parachini as our new Swedish player. Now the Old World gets a little more representation. Please give him a warm welcome!
Now, as for deadlines, in keeping with our Wednesday/Friday schedule, I'll schedule Winter for 5 February. Though should I receive a full set of orders without any express statement that I wait until Friday, I'll adjucate at an earlier date.
I hope we'll all get back into the swing of things before too long and apologise for the overly long hiatus.
Liebe Grüsse,
Charles

DC 298 Winter Delay - untitled36 (Jan 29, 2010, 8:18 am) |
Hey all,
Something came up, and I'll have to delay adjucation for a few hours. I'll still get it out today, my best guess is by 1:00 PM (CST)? That's not firm, and I will allow changes until I adjucate, but that might be any time, so make sure anything you send in is final. Sorry for the delay.

GM’s remarks:
Ian has reported his computer has crashed and it will be necessary for him to get a new one. I have no idea how long this purchase will take and my inquiry back to Ian generated no response. I would like to give Ian until Monday evening to get back to us for his retreat; otherwise, as Italy no longer occupies any of its home supplies and it is likely to have less than 3 resources after this fall, Italy shall fall in to Civil Disorder.

DC297; Fall 1903 Results - dipknight (Jan 28, 2010, 8:41 pm) |
GM’s remarks:
Lots of Retreats this season; and, while most of them have only one province or sea zone to retreat to and would normally be handle automatically, the Italian retreat has more than one. Therefore, I will leave the others open for the other countries to decide whether or not to accept the single option or retreat Off-the-Board (OTB).
Remember, for Winter Blitz Tournament play, both the retreats and the Build/Disbands are due tomorrow. Contingency orders based on possible retreats are allowed. Contingency orders based one someone else’s build will be ignored.
