DC267 Fall 2014 Results CORRECTED - MattTheLesser (Dec 06, 2009, 10:31 am) |
Hey guys,
Two errors on the last adjudication were pointed out to me soon after I
sent them. First, I failed to use the most recent set of Danish orders,
so the adjudication and map have been corrected to account for these.
The net result is different locations of a few Danish units and the
disbanding of the Russian fleet in Archangel. Second, another end-game
proposal, for a Danish solo, was put forth, so please include your votes
for this with your orders for Winter 2014, which will now be due this
coming Thursday, December 10, at 9 pm eastern.

Not my finest adjudication as two more errors to the map have been

GM’s remarks:
My apologies for this being a little late; I was so tired last night that I was having problems keeping my eye lids open. And, since I already make the mistake of labeling the Deadline Warning as the Spring Warning instead of the Fall Warning, I figured it would be better to get a good night’s sleep before working this out so that I didn’t make any mistakes where it counted.
My thanks for your understanding and for getting your order in on time; so, with no further ado, here are your results. And, with no retreats required, we move directly into the Winter Season (see deadline and build/disband requirement below).

All,
Sorry for the delay. We were missing a set but they fortunately came in so we can move along.
We have no retreats and only 1 build (Russia). We also have a 2-way R/A EGP. This would ensure survival for Germany and Turkey if it passes but it takes 4 yes votes.
Please vote on this with our Winter deadline which is Monday the 7th at 6pm CST. Ian also needs to submit a build with that deadline.

Heya folks,
Its a mixed bag this round as the elves in Faerun slip into the mists, the Ogres space out their builds across the map and the Rogues draw the curtain on two of their southern-leaning fleets. Meanwhile your humble GM made a slight error in the builds count last turn - with the Knights home centers all occupied, no build is possible for the forces in black. Thanks to those players who caught my error there.
Just let me know if you spot any errors with the Winter results. We'll set the Spring 14 deadline for Wednesday, December 9th (11:59 PM GMT).
Cheers!

Subject: Moving, Limited Internet
Folks,
As some of you may know, I spent this past weekend moving closer to work. Part of the pain of moving is physical (are you as sore as me, Blue?) and part is a certain disconnection. The specific disconnect that affects Dip is my internet - I can access it from work, but Comcast hasn't seen fit to transfer my home service yet. (And I don't have any map support from work.)
I'll let you guys all know as soon as I find out when I'll be connected. Until then, I'm putting a temporary hold on deadlines for games I'm running. Mike, Trout, and Blue, I'll try to make sure my moves are in on time using the JPG or GIF maps you send out with adjudications. If you wouldn't mind spreading the word to my boardmates that I'm here but a bit out of the loop, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks for your patience, guys. I'll try to make this as painless as possible.

normal practice to announce any waived builds (voluntary or otherwise)

Modern Files - AlanRFarrington (Dec 02, 2009, 10:19 pm) |
So in case you havn't noticed the names on our map tend to always be directly under the unit in that space. I've asked Benjamin Hester to remedy this for me. If you want to try out his new files (Version 1) they're attached. If you want to stick with the old thats fine too. I'll probably be using a combination of both, to avoid bugs but to also make it easier (Iran has no South Coast..etc)
Take care guys,

DC269 - Fall 1906 - Viper (Dec 02, 2009, 1:47 pm) |
Hey guys... many apologies for the extremely lengthy delay. I have been significantly under the weather for the past two weeks and I just wasn't able to handle the necessary concentration for adjudicating. On top of everything else, I wasn't the sickest in my house as we've experienced everything including pneumonia, H1N1, and some form of heart failure, none of which was me. An interesting couple of weeks to say the least. However, I'm ready, I think, to get going again. Here are the fall moves that were submitted to me a long time ago:
Austria:
A Vienna Supports F Adriatic Sea - Trieste
England:
F Holland - Belgium
F North Sea - London (*bounce*)
F Helgoland Bight Supports A Kiel
A Bohemia - Munich (*bounce*)
France:
F Tunis Holds
A Piedmont - Venice (*fails*)
F Marseilles - Gulf of Lyons
A Burgundy - Munich (*fails*)
A Munich - Kiel
A Berlin Supports A Munich - Kiel
F Brest - English Channel
F Wales - London (*bounce*)
Italy:
F Tyrrhenian Sea - Naples
A Venice Supports A Treiste - Tyrolia (*cut*)
A Trieste - Tyrolia
F Adriatic Sea - Trieste (*fails*)
A Kiel Supports A Bohemia - Munich (*dislodged*)
Russia:
F Nowegian Sea - Edinburgh
F Norway - North Sea (*fails*)
F Sweden Supports F Denmark
F Denmark Supports A Munich - Kiel
A Prussia Holds
A Warsaw Supports A Galicia
A Galicia Supports A Budapest
A Budapest Supports A Albania - Trieste
A Serbia Supports A Albania - Trieste
F Rumania Holds
Turkey:
A Albania - Trieste
F Ionian Sea - Adriatic Sea (*fails*)
F Greece - Ionian Sea (*fails*)
A Bulgaria - Greece (*fails*)
A Constantinople - Bulgaria (*fails*)
Retreats:
Italy's A Kiel may retreat to Holland, Ruhr or OTB. Note that I have just deleted this unit, as that will be the default unless I hear otherwise.
Now, we're on the search for a new Italy, so until I find that, we'll be on a bit of a wait again. I hope that won't take terribly long as I'd like to get this thing moving once more.
Also, just so everyone knows, come the spring turn we have a whole new set of EOG proposals to sort through... if anyone has any more, let me know.

DC-224 Slaughter of Space-Time - Official Autumn 1... - former.trout (Dec 01, 2009, 11:51 pm) |
Heya folks,
Winter adjustments were due this evening, but your humble GM has to admit to Rip van Winkling the weekend away. I'd like to say it was a serious drinking binge, but it wasn't anything that fun and rumours that I missed the Grey Cup because I was stuck in the office will not be confirmed or denied.
Its a hard life being a secret agent. Not that I am, or anything, but the fact remains.
In any event, we're short a couple sets of adjustments here and I believe its totally and completely my fault for not getting the official Autumn turn out. So we'll shake the snow-flakes off, issue the map and early winter results and allow until Thursday, Dec 3rd (11:59 PM GMT) for winter adjustments to come in.
Cheers!

I'm also going to take this opportunity to note something that should
have been mentioned in the winter adjustments.
The information below is a recopy of the status as of the Fall adjudication.
Gaels: Supp 6 Unit 6 Build 0
Scots: Supp 7 Unit 7 Build 0
Bretons: Supp 0 Unit 1 Remove 1
Norse: Supp 3 Unit 5 Remove 2
AngloSaxons: Supp 6 Unit 5 Build 1
Danes: Supp 16 Unit 13 Build 2
Swedes: Supp 0 Unit 0 Build 0
Note that the Danes had one build forcibly waived because one of their
home SCs (Jelling) was occupied by one of their own fleets. It is my
normal practice to announce any waived builds (voluntary or otherwise)
with the winter results, and I did not do so this past season.

dc278 - Fall 1903 Results - z93blom (Dec 01, 2009, 2:48 pm) |
Good afternoon my Diplomats,
This season sees the demise of the Turkish Turtle, all while multiple countries strike at Germany with success, partly due to the fact that the German leadership seems to have disappeared.
The German Fleet in Denmark has several retreat options available:
Helgoland Bight, North Sea, Baltic Sea or OTB
The Turkish army in Smyrna also has several retreat options available:
Syria, Armenia or OTB, although this has more of a theoretical value, since coming this winter there are no more Turkish centers, and the unit will have to disband.
Come this winter we will see the following changes occur:
Austria: Build 2
England: Build 2
France: -
Germany: Remove 2 (or 1 if the Fleet retreats OTB)
Italy: -
Russia: -
Turkey: Eliminated.
We thank Dan for trying out his Turtle. I know that he was disappointed with the start of the game, but he did keep in the game up until the bitter end. Thank you, and good luck in your other games at DC.
Any mistakes that I've made should be brought to my attention as soon as possible. Please let me know if you plan on being away or if you want an extended deadline.
