Thank you again Russia for accepting and acknowledging the simple yet painful mistake, France feels your pain (mainly because we do not have much else to do). :-}

DC222 - Replacement German - Game On!! - former.trout   (May 12, 2009, 10:04 pm)
Heya folks,

With apologies for the slight delay, I'm really happy to announce our new German speed-bump...  Uhm...  I mean our new German player.  Please help me in welcoming James Yagley to the game.  James is an old-time vet of Diplomaticcorp, and he looked at the map, nodded his head and said "Yup - I can solo from that position."

*VERY evil grin*

To give our new Kaiser more time to get to know that impending sense of doom, we'll revise the Spring 1908 deadline for Friday, May 15th (11:59 PM GMT).  Moves can be altered or changed up to this deadline.

The revised player list and current Fall 1907 map are attached for review.  Thanks again everyone.  Cheers!

Small mistake, so it sucks, but you are completely right... rules are rules and the GM is entirely within his rights with this call. You are showing to be a big man Jeff, with your serene attitude.

My apologies to you all. I was wrong. I wasn't given an NMR received because Wolf hadn't gotten my orders in time (as I first thought) but, instead, because I neglected to put the game number down. The game rules are very clear and the mistake was mine. I'll continue to play (in my diminished capacity) until the bitter end. Maybe I can provoke a war between England and Turkey over my last remaining province. Nonetheless, I apologize to you all, and especially Wolf, for my error. I suppose it is like the real world where a simple error changes the dynamics of everything. Luck to you all. Jeff

DC-244 New Spaniard - TheWhiteWolf   (May 12, 2009, 5:09 pm)
Folks,
We've already got a new Spanish king. Please welcome Rodrigo Yanez.
I actually had two applicants to this position, which is impressive since we had such a hard time filling the game initially. Thanks to Rodrigo for saving us, and to the rest of you for sticking with it.
Tomorrow's winter deadline stands, since Spain doesn't owe me anything.

DC 254, Fall delay...over - alwayshunted   (May 12, 2009, 5:06 pm)
Okay folks, here's the scoop. Our Russian player contacted me immediately... apparently his nmr was an oversight, and I have agreed to give him a second chance. Of course if it happens again it means 50 lashes and a week in solitary..... heh, heh.

So I'm going to make a new deadline for TOMORROW, since we haven't had any changes in players. That's about 30 hours from now, at 22:00 MDT on Wednesday May 13th.

I'll get the game set up again on the DC site in a while.

Onward....

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.EC_hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;} Hi everyone,

Sorry folks, but we have an nmr this fall. As always (although I don't know if I remembered to mention it before) I will not adjudicate a turn in 1901 if there is an nmr. After 01 it's a different story, but the deal is that I put the game immediately into recruiting. This time it's for a new Russia.

So... sorry folks. Don't worry, we'll get on a roll soon. For now I am looking for a replacement for our Russian.

I'll follow up soon and let you all know what's going on.

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P {padding:0px;} .ExternalClass body.EC_hmmessage {font-size:10pt;font-family:Verdana;} Hey everyone,

Many apologies. It's been a bit silly these past few days, but we are now underway. There shouldn't be any more delays like this from my end.

So we're underway. No retreats as expected for spring 01. There are some apparently aggressive openings, and one misorder. CHECK THE RULES and your units if you're new or rusty guys. A few provinces have more than one coast......

Here is spring:

--------------------
ORDERS RECEIVED:

Austria:

F Trieste - Venice
A Vienna - Galicia
A Budapest - Serbia

England:

F London - English Channel
A Liverpool - Wales
F Edinburgh - North Sea

France:

F Brest - Mid-Atlantic Ocean
A Marseilles - Burgundy
A Paris - Picardy

Germany:

F Kie- Hol
A Ber- Kie
A Mun- Bur

Italy:

A Venice holds
A Rome - Apulia
F Naples - Ionian Sea

Russia:

F sev to rum
A stp to nor
A war gal
A mos to war

Turkey:

A Con-Bul
A Smy-Con
F Ank-BLA

No retreats needed, so we're on to fall 1901. Nest deadline is in one week, Monday, May 11, 22:00 MDT.
-------------------------

Okay, maps are attached. After this turn I will also show you the adjudication from Realpolitik, but I'm borrowing a computer and I forgot to copy it as I adjudicated, and it doesn't really matter that much for spring 01.... so....

Sorry again for the delay.

England suffers his first NMR, since the 24 hour grace period had been used earlier. No retreats, and the only adjustment is that Chris bites the dust, so England has 1 build pending. Let's have that build within 24 hours, May 13th, GMT 20:00:00.

Spring 1912 Deadline is May 19th, 20:00:00 GMT.

Have fun! Prelims are encouraged!

Well, if Persia will wander into perpetually undefended ADD and liberate the defenseless inhabitants, we'll have one less possibilitySmile

Not going to say I'm sorry for the Mike but its kind of an unusual situation so I had to go for it...

Please disband F IND rather than retreat to SOM - hopefully that will demonstrate my intentions here.

Thanks,

I vote no if it would resolve before winter when sc counts get updated.

OK, well, you all got to see the retreat OTB order from South America.  Upcoming is the Winter of 2013 and Winter is not eligible for an EOG proposal, so we'll go ahead with that and leave the perpetual draw proposal on the table for spring.

[u:4011b0aa7f]Ownership[/u:4011b0aa7f]
Mexico: Alaska, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Ontario, Quebec, Illinois, Boston, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Cuba, Paris, Morocco, Dakar, Ouagadougou, Sydney, Manila (19 sc's - 17 units = 2 builds)
South America: Columbia, Peru, Honolulu, Bolivia, Argentina, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Angola, Pretoria, Maputo, Perth, Melbourne, Auckland (14 sc's - 12 units = 2 builds)
Russia: London, Berlin, Vienna, Oslo, Sweden, Minsk, Murmansk, Moscow, Nizhniy-Novgorod, Kazakhstan, Beijing, Vladivostok, Korea, Honshu, Taiwan (15 sc's - 14 units = 1 build)
West Africa: Algeria, Lagos (2 sc's - 3 units = 1 disband)
Persia: Rome, Zagreb, Romania, Ankara, Libya, Egypt, Congo, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Riyadh, Baghdad, Tehran, Pakistan, Mumbai, Delhi, Shanghai, Hong Kong (17 sc's - 17 units = even)
China: Addis Ababa (1 sc - 0 units = 1 build)
Oceania: Siam, Jakarta (2 sc's - 2 units = even)

Obviously, China, with no home centres, will be unable to build his unit.  For the rest of you, Winter 2013 adjustments will be due Monday, May 18, 2200GMT.
DC190 - Fall 2013 (dc190) DamienThryn May 15, 02:40 pm
I think I have 13 units and now get 1 build, correct?

Please build me an Army in RIO, for the sake of transparency.  Destination Angola, to establish a happy kumbaya singing stalemate line in South Africa.

Can I perpetually vote for the perpetual draw proposal?

Thanks,
Andrew

DC 211: S1912 - AceRimmer   (May 12, 2009, 2:48 pm)
The fewer units that move, the easier this game is to adjudicate. So, let me give you the bullet-point version:
- England: A Edi-Nwy & A Nwy-Den
- France: A Spa-Rom & F Rom-Ion
- Austria: F Ion retreats
- All other units sit still

The tricky part is keeping track of all the supports and cut supports and seeing that F GoL cuts support from Apu and that the fleet in Ionian can retreat to Spain if it wants. Which reminds me:

Austrian F Ionian Sea may retreat to Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Eastern Mediterranean, Greece, Smyrna, Spain, or OTB.

I'll need a retreat from Austria by tomorrow at 10:00 CST. S1912 seismics will be due on Thursday at 10:00 CST. Then, we will wait. Between Austria and Russia, we will have absentees from the 16th through the 30th (excepting the 21st, but that wouldn't leave time for retreats, seismics, and builds...). Therefore, we will not have F1912 until Monday, June 1st (I'd do Tuesday, but I have a doctor's appointment). After such a long break, I will expect - nay demand - to see lots of stabs.

DC222 - Two Steps to Replacing Germany - former.trout   (May 12, 2009, 12:12 pm)
Heya folks,

With regrets, it appears as though I'm going to need to replace Germany.  Mike has once again failed to show up for the deadline and despite some extra time has still not been in touch with me.  Although this is a mercy position, I have someone in mind who I think will be happy to snap it up - I don't expect the game to be hanging for very long.

Apologies about the delay guys.  Thanks for the patience,

Trout

Dc228 Fall 1907

Well despite his email, and my subsequewnt reply to him - i have heard nothing from France at all. I opened the door for him to ask for a delay and not even one email was sent to me. So France suffers a second NMR and is now placed in CD.

EGS - Russia. - deathblade_penguin   (May 12, 2009, 5:08 am)
A few words from Russia.

Mike - thankyou for stepping in and GMing this game.

Aidan - You were a great ally throughout the game and even on the few rounds where we had a lapse of communication, our misunderstand were easily cleared.

Trout - The way the map was designed, Russia has to take out Germany. So i did.

Mav - I enjoyed working with you, but you grew too big too quickly... however you did force England and I to play for a draw rather than to eliminate you.

Jeff - we never really had a chance to work together

Nigel - Austria was gunning for you form the beginning and I just tagged along.

France - You are far and wide the worst player i have ever encountered. YOu never answered a single one of my emails.

There was never enough communciation in this game (and I am partly responsible for that).........
