DC223 - Player replacement for Italy - bielf11   (Mar 19, 2009, 4:36 pm)
My dear Rulers,

the Italian ruler has disappeared and not responded to any of my messages.
As such I have to assume that he won't return to continue this game.
I just posted an announcement on our DC site to find a replacement.
If we're lucky we may have one today already so at this stage I'm not changing the deadline for Fall.

Frank

DC 211: Fall 1908 Seismics - AceRimmer   (Mar 19, 2009, 11:19 am)
This game is more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Just when Berlin is taken, it becomes vulnerable again. But Sweden becomes vulnerable the other way as the Baltic Lake reconnects to the North Sea. And, even though Italy is gone, his homeland continues to be geomorphed.

Builds due from Austria, England, and France tomorrow!

While we’re at it, let me know what you think of the deadline cycle. Now that we’re down to four players, I can speed it up if you like.

Austria:
Split Mun / Ber, Join Hol / Swi

England:
Split Nor/Den - Join Ska/Swe; Please make straits wherever I can
[Strait between Sweden and Denmark; Sweden and Denmark now have one coast apiece… it’s kind of a restoration to the beginning of the game there].

France:
split ion and rom, connect wes and apu

Russia:
Split Pru / Bal , Join Den / Lvn

Hello all,

As has been the case alomst permanently during this game I'm a little pressed for time but will do a full EOGS as soon as I can. Just wanted to congratulate Garry on overcomming the obstcles, real world and diplomatic, to score his win. Well played too to Kevin & both Steves and many, many thanks to Adam. I had the pleasure of playing in a game Run by Mike Sims last year and remember saying in my EODG then that GMing can't be done any better. Adam has shown here that it can though certainly be done as well!

Thanks to all for a combative but friendly and respectful game. Good luck to all in round two, particularly Garry who now has a chance to win the tourney and make board 233 look good.. As an added incentive for you Mr Bledsoe, if you get yourself a prize I'll offer you my own winning certificate from last year which I never did spend. (Transatlatic shipping not being so green.)

WWIV f12 results! - FuzzyLogic   (Mar 19, 2009, 10:28 am)
In our 12th year, we bid a fond farewell to Mexico, as Honduras falls to the Americans… A big thanks goes out to Esdras (and all others who have stepped into tough positions) for helping keep the game moving with little interruption. On the other side of the world, the “small but proud” empire of China hangs on another year, as it was unclear just who was to take the last of his centers…

RETREATS and BUILDS due Monday 3/23, 10am Pacific!

3 RETREATS:

Argentina F Nicaragua(nic)(ec) can retreat to Panama(pan) or Western Caribbean Sea(wcb).

Brazil: Build 2
California: Build 1
Catholica: Build 3
Illinois: Build 5
Nigeria: Build 2
SichuanEmpire: Build 1
UnitedKingdom: Remove 2
UnitedStates: Build 2

Remember RETREATS and BUILDS are due together this round.

Well, the EOGs could be interesting for this game... I will be interested to hear how all of you respond.

Austria ascends to the throne whilst grinding Paris, Marseilles, and Spain under his heel.

Alas, Germany is simultaneously eliminated.

If you haven't confirmed your participation for Round 2 at the DC website, please do so soon.

My thanks to everybody, especially Austria, Germany, and Italy, none of whom ever NMR'd. Not even Steve. Really.

Firstly I apologise for my quietness, I am seriously balancing too many demands at the moment.

Secondly, as per my house rules, whilst I try my best to get out a 24 hour warning for moves - this is not something players should rely on. It is your responsibility to get moves in by the deadline.

France- please submit moves within 24 hours. I will run the turn within 48 hours.

Berlin falls! Kersplat! Though it would not have changed the result, there _appears_ to have been some miscommunication of the baseball variety: “I’ve got it!” “No, I’ve got it!” “You’ve got it!” “We’ve got it!” “Who’s got it?” THUD. Yeesh, it’s like a White Sox game.

There was also one unwanted support. Those are always fun.

There is but that one retreat… and it is a forced disband. In addition, I am disbanding the Italian fleet in Ionian. Alas, Greg, you have departed us too soon. Feel free to play sinister organ music and to think of Austria as you do so. Let me know if you’d like to be removed from the mailing list.

As for the other four of you… Seismic orders are due on Thursday. Adjustments are due on Friday. On account of conquering, disbanding, and waived builds, everybody builds one. Unless your name is Lytton. You don’t get to build anything. And I’m not giving you a cookie, either.

DC 217, Spring 1907 - Slangers   (Mar 19, 2009, 3:16 am)

Thanks for this. The way around the map problem would be to go back to the Winter 06 map, reenter the orders received for Spring 07 and then manually order the two Italian armies to hold. Then when you run the adjudication RP will not disband them and will allow the retreat.

Also, once we have the retreats in on Friday, can we make the Fall 07 deadline a quick one- say 2-3 days. This game is over and nobody is talking to each other any more, as apart from England and Germany (who are doomed anyway) there are no longer any alliances. We don’t need longer deadlines

Hi all,

I'm stuck in a remote place... again. Sorry for the delay.

I can find no orders from Italy. Stjepan if you sent them and I've misplaced them, please let me know.

Because of this I am unable to show Italy's units or allow him retreats, as RP automatically disbands units after an nmr. I'm not sure what to do about this, as I cannot edit the map either without simply starting from scratch.

ANYHOW, by my rules Italy is allowed to retreat both Trieste and Bulgaria. I am working on this problem and will figure something out, but Stjepan you can assume that both your armies still exist, and please send me retreats.

England also has a retreat due.

I'm going to allow until Friday night for retreats. Friday, March 20th, 22:00 MST.

Subject: DC232 game over!

Although it's a bit out of turn, since this is a winter adjustment phase, all 4 remaining players have now agreed to a DIAS.  The three powers aligned against the 17-center France had established an unbreakable stalemate line.

I agree that the game got off to a rocky start, but it was still an interesting game nonetheless.  Thanks for playing, everyone, and good luck in round 2 of the tournament!

Cory

P.S.  Mike, the final game map is attached.

DC-227 Deadline Extension - TheWhiteWolf   (Mar 18, 2009, 2:55 am)
Folks,
I've had a request for a 24 hour extension. Per my house rules, I have no problem granting extensions requested before the deadline. The new deadline for Spring 1916 is Thursday, 19 March at 2pm CDT (7pm GMT.)

DC222 Two Steps To Anarchy - Spring 06 - Isles Wit... - former.trout   (Mar 17, 2009, 10:00 pm)
Happy St. Patty's Day folks!

Hope all the green beer is going down easy.  Watch out for those wee lil leprechauns - they spit...  =P

On the board, however, everyone seems to think the pot of gold is hidden in Munich.  Well, everyone except for the Germans who go looking for it in Bohemia.  Meanwhile the French solidify in the Atlantic and take Liverpool for good measure.

Just one retreat on this bleary night - and that coming from Liverpool.  The English had only Clyde to fall back to, so I moved them north to nurse off their morning hang-overs...  Nathan, if OTB is preferred than please just let me know.

Otherwise, it will be Fall 06 orders due on Monday, March 23rd (11:59 PM GMT).  Shout out if you spot any errors!

Cheers!
