WWIV delay - FuzzyLogic (Jan 09, 2009, 1:32 pm) |
Good news, just like that we've got a post on the WB forum, alerting us as to his new address. Let's go with bridgejunky-at-ymail-dot-com, and set a new deadline for Monday 10am Pacific, so you all have a couple days to contact him if needed. If I happen to get orders from Paul marked "final" sooner, I'll run the turn whenever.

Hey folks,
I've been trying feverishly all week to get a message thru to our temp Philippines leader Paul... and as you may have noticed, they're all bouncing! So the last I heard from him was the mail in which he accepted the post, and then he was not able to receive the adjudication from last turn or anything, and I've tried to mail him daily. Seeing as this is beyond the scope of the temp position, and it wouldnt be fair to Greg to put his country in NMR for the turn, when I cant get an adjudication out to Paul, (the temp assigned by me) we have to hold till either Paul is able to receive messages (including the winter results) or till Greg returns. Hate to do it but I'll have to keep you posted as we go along!

Hi everyone,
I had forgotten to mention that we have 3 Draw proposals for Spring to vote on:
1) DIAS: many of you already voted on this with the Winter orders;
2) 2-party Draw between ERE and SLAV;
3) 2-party Draw between ERE and Norge.
This is also the sequence in which they were presented so if more than one is agreed on, the first on the list will be used.
Plenty of choices. Deadline for these is the Spring 961 deadline.

Tom Tweedy of dip2000 has passed away. - FuzzyLogic (Jan 08, 2009, 10:08 pm) |
To whom it may concern.
December 25th Tom Tweedy, the founder of Dip2000 and someone who has been active in the Diplomacy hobby for decades, passed away.
The message that was posted on the Dip2000-board:
********************
It is my sad duty to inform you all of the death of Tom Tweedy.
Tom died this afternoon (Dec 25th) at home with his family present.
His death is a sad loss for the hobby in general and for the Dip2000
community in particular.
Details of his funeral will be available later, anyone who wishes to
have details please send an email to funeral(at)dip2000.com and I'll send
details as soon as I have them.
Anyone who wishes to send a message to his family should email the
message to memorial(at)dip2000.com, these will be printed and passed on.
His widow has expressed a desire for anyone who wishes to attend his
funeral, I will give her the numbers who contact me so she has some
idea how many will be there.
Finally, please feel free to pass on this news to anyone in the hobby
who may have known him. Over the years Tom has been a big part of the
hobby and has crossed paths with many people.
The Dip2000 site will continue to function as normal, after his
illness some years ago Tom and I took steps to ensure that the site
could function without him and in the past months since his illness
last year we've modified the site again to ensure it would continue
after his death. It will carry on as was his wish as his lasting memorial.[Reply] |

Bulletin No. 1 Leprechaun HQ - MattKelly (Jan 08, 2009, 7:15 pm) |
From he who sits upon the Sacred Stool before the Great Bar at the Most Holy Shrine to the Great JuJu & Pub.
Fall in the year 01, a turn that shall live in infamy, we Leprechauns were viciously, and in the most vile manner, subject to an unprovoked assault from behind by those prancing rat bastard elves. While we may have been caught with our drawers down, our backs turned, and four sheets to the wind our ultimate triumph is assured! Leprechauns arise! Pull up your drawers, put in a call to the crisis hot line, chug some sodium bicarbonate, and stagger ever forward! Put down your pint, your liverwurst on rye, or if you prefer, that corn beef sandwich with a dab of mustard, and grab that broken bottle, bar stool, tire iron, shiv, and oh yea that shilleighly thingy and rally around the keg!
Let us go forth and blindside, sucker punch, clothesline, clip, facemask, those prancing rat bastard elves and drive them back to whence they came! But we shall not stop there! Let us turn their Elvin glades into cheap strip malls, their sacred woods into fast food restaurants and Dollar Generals, and wipe any reference of J. R. R. Tolkien from the face of the earth!
Upon our ultimate victory we shall tap the keg over our vanquished foes and toast our fallen comrades and wish them well in rehab!!!

DC 226 -GAME ENDS IN A 4 WAY DRAW!!!!!! - packrat (Jan 08, 2009, 3:26 pm) |
Jesus Christ said it best as He hung on the cross:
"It is finished"
I have officially ended this game in a 4 way draw after 24 days of play.
Although, the powers that be do not actually acknowledge that the game
ever actually started.
This game has been a pig to recruit for and while I really wanted to run it
I don't want to have to beg for players and then get ones who can't meet
the responsibilities they signed up for.
So, rather than drag this out any longer I opted to end it this way.
Congratulations to those who survived SP01. Nicely done.[Reply] |
DC209 4 -WAY DRAW PROPOSED - vegas_iwish (Jan 08, 2009, 2:23 pm) |
Malaysia would be excluded. Vote must be 100% for all those with scs. Incl vote with next moves. [Reply] |

Hey all,
The game is up on the home page again for players - think of it this way - at least we have the GM here to ditch the lameasses who sign up then dont show up for the game. You'll get a better game out of it, once you start with 7 who are interested in playing! As always if anyone has other ideas on how to avoid new players comign to the site, signing up, then disappearing, feel free to share. Otherwise it does take some time to weed them out.

Sorry gents, I am still missing two sets and I will not start a game out
with two NMR's in 1901. Both players have been notified separately
since I forgot to do that last night. They have until 2100 Wednesday.
Acutally, I will be in class until 2200 so I will likely slide it a bit. However,
if they do not have orders in the game will go on hold and they WILL be
replaced.[Reply] |
