DC464 Winter 1908 - Zoterik   (Feb 13, 2014, 12:37 am)
With the builds, the balance of power may have shifted ever-so-slightly in favor of France being the one most likely to overcome the stalemate in the West, but in the East, Austria could find himself with a two-front war building against him.

Spring 1909 orders due 18 February.

Austria:
Build A Vienna

France:
Build F Brest

Germany:
Build A Kiel
Build A Berlin

Turkey:
Remove F Adriatic Sea

DC479 Hundred - Spring 1427 - Zoterik   (Feb 10, 2014, 11:02 pm)
Alright, so because of what I perceive as a lack of interest, I'm going to take a guess and say that you guys are playing this game as if it were gunboat.  If I'm wrong, please let me know, but if I'm right then we can have quick deadlines.  Alternatively, there is a proposal for an England-France two-way draw.  It needs the support of all three of you to pass and end the game.

Burgundy moves oddly (in my opinion), abandoning Flanders, possibly in anticipation of a full frontal assault of the E/F alliance.  However, that same alliance shows signs of faltering, if the French moves are to be believed.

Fall 1427 orders and draw vote due 14 February.

*Rumors of "Black Sea Triangle," Lesser Cousin to Bermuda, Abound*

Hey all,

Lots of clashes across the map. Interesting, most of recipients of a supported attack attempted to move anyway. Judging solely from the supports this season it looks like we have an IT Alliance and an FG Alliance in the works. Russia and England take a beating this turn, but all is not yet lost.

We have two retreats (plus F Bla which is disbanded). French F Eng can retreat Wal, Bre, Pic, or OTB. Turkish A Rum can retreat to Sev or OTB. Those retreats are due tomorrow.

Okay, right now we're looking for the German retreat, but let me give you a "heads up" on a draw vote.  There's a proposal for an EGT draw.  This'll be voted on in the fall.

Okay, we seem to have three draw proposals to vote upon this season:

1) TGE draw

2) TIE draw

3) TIGE draw

Not voting for a draw = a NO vote for that draw.

DC 464 Fall 1908 - Zoterik   (Feb 10, 2014, 12:58 pm)
This is the season of risky moves, or so it seems.  France leaves London, and Germany leaves Moscow, but both moves are followed up by unsupported and unopposed moves to complete the elimination of England and Russia.  A big thank you to Kevin and Herman for sticking it out to the end after finding themselves in difficult situations.  But this is the turn that Germany opens up a big three-centre lead over the best contender, combining the gain of Moscow with the build he couldn't use last time.  The Germans have strength in Ukraine and will definitely be involved in the southern conflict, but on what side?  Does Turkey have a friend?  In the west, the lines of conflict between Germany and France remain the same as they have been for some time, and we will see if Germany can gain the advantage with the fleet in Norwegian Sea.  Is this the beginning of a solo bid?  Too early to tell, I suspect, but Germany is the player to watch.

Gentlemen
Sadly, it is time for me to say goodbye. Although I failed miserably at turning Germany into a central European powerhouse, I really enjoyed myself. Thanks to all of you and especially to you, Warren, for doing such a great job at administering the game! Hopefully, we will meet again at some point. Until then, I wish you all the best and good luck for the rest of the game.

*Austrians Decimated!*
*Turkey Guesses Right!*
*France Declares National Holiday: "We Finally Took Wales Day"*

Hey all,

First off, Austria is eliminated. No more NMRs clogging up *this* board. Right? Right?

Turkey pretty cunningly nabs some Russian SCs. Italy does a moderately rare 2 fleet long convoy to Trieste, but is denied Vienna. Lots more movement in the East than the west this season. But now we move to builds.

Builds are:

Austria: Remove 1 (-Vie)
Germany: Build 1 (+unused 1902 build)
Russia: Remove 1 (-Sev, - Rum, + Vie)
Turkey: Build 2 (+Rum, +Sev, but only one open home sc)

DC478 Anselm's Ontology: Deadline extended to Satu... - Cartesian   (Feb 08, 2014, 3:55 am)
Gentlemen, you have just 6 hours more to go!

No NMRs please!

Latecomers stand a big risk of NMRing, so why not send preliminary (v1) orders now, in case real life intervenes in the meantime? Please put the Game Number, Game Name, Power, Season and order version in the Subject of a new email - don’t  just reply to mine, or your orders may be missed. If you send v1 orders I will use them if you send no others (I will always use the last orders you send), so no need to reconfirm if you don’t change them.

> I am running more than one game at once (and playing a few too) and in a typical week will be receiving around 40 Dip emails, sometimes with order updates from players who like to submit preliminaries or who just change their minds. Please make sure that you put the game number (DC47Cool, the current season and the name of your Power in the subject line. Give each version of your orders a number so that I can ignore things that have been updated. e.g. DC478 Germany Fall 1901 v1.

> Try to give me your orders in the format that the adjudication comes out in. It is easier for me to process if you state A Rum-Ser or A Rum-->Ser rather than "Rumania attacks Serbia", or "Rum moves to ser". Neither way is right or wrong, but it helps if you operate on my wavelength.

> If you order support then you MUST state the location of the unit being supported and where it is being supported to. Thus "A Fin S FNTH-Nw"y is fine, as is "AFin supports FNTH-Norway", etc. I will not accept "A Fin S English attack on Nwy" even if there is only one English unit that could get to Nwy.

> If you order a convoy you must order the unit being convoyed AND the convoying fleet(s). Thus A Wal-Bre, F ENG c A Wal-Bre is correct. F ENG c A Wal-Bre will not be accepted as A Wal has not received an order.
> Do not use amiguous abbreviations e.g. "Liv" could mean Liverpool (Lpl) or Livonia (Lvn). "Nor" could mean Norway (Nwy) or North Sea (NTH). Some players ( I am one of these) prefer the convention of using capitals for sea areas to aid recognition e.g. GOL, MAO, NTH are seas but Gre, Mar and Nwy are provinces. Feel free to use full names if you prefer (but then make sure you don't mix them up!).

"Her indoors" has decided that this episode of CSI (a CSI: New York which seems to involve a tiger in a zoo eating a man) isn't something she wants to watch, so she's gone to bed to play Solitaire on her Kindle.  I guess that means the evening she wanted to spend together (watching episodes of CSI) is over and I can get on with more important things.

Right, all winter orders are now closed, but let's take this adjudication one step at a time...

Italy's MAO retreats to WES.

Austria's War retreats to Lvn.

Russia's Stp disbands.

That was easy.  Let's see if I can get the winter done...
