Fall 1905 sees conflict all across Europe and several regions switch hands. The Russians lose their Black Sea port in Sevastopol to a combined Turkish/Austrian movement, but pick up England's last vestige of power in Norway. Elsewhere Turkish naval units launch an assault on Naples but are beat off by the Italian defenders. French military forces are still on the move and push both deeper into the Mediteranean and farther north, into the Norwegian Sea. French marines also land in Holland, but at the cost of a German presence in Burgundy.

Guys,
An eventful Spring season. Bounces abound, Italy's under attack! Venice is invaded by German troops with the support of the Austrians while the Turks continue a streak of surprising convoys by sending Bulgaria into the Apullian countryside. Russian naval units in Sweden dock in Norway and the French push the German navy out of the North Sea.
There is one retreat this round, the German fleet in the North Sea can retreat to Norwegian Sea or Skagerrak or Helgoland Bight or Holland.
The deadline for Summer retreats is Tuesday at 23:59, though Jason if you get me your moves earlier and are ok I can adjudicate it quicker so we can move on to Fall 1905. Please let me know in your message if you're fine with speeding it up.

I've received an emergency request to postpone this season's deadline until this Friday, 3rd Sept at 23:59. Since I understand Diplomacy can sometimes take second seat to Life, I've agreed and so Spring 1905 moves will be due at that time.
To clarify how I feel about deadline postponements, I'd appreciate being given notice of a needed postponement at least a deadline in advance so that all players can be alerted. As I said above, I understand that this isn't always possible so in the case of emergencies I will postpone the game for a good reason. Just contact me as soon as you can and I'll let all the players know.

Sorry for the massive delay in adjudication, by the time the deadline expired I had still only received orders from TWO of you. After sending out a few reminders I received most of the moves in time, and then realized I had forgotten to send a reminder to one of the absentees. I don't believe it would have been fair to process without giving the other player the same opportunity to get his moves in, so had to delay slightly longer. I'm very sorry for the delay!
I've been pretty forgiving with late moves up to this point, but only receiving orders from 2/7 players is a little much. In the future I will try to send a reminder to those of you I haven't received orders from 24 hours in advance--but I don't think I will delay the game as much anymore and will process no orders as NMRs if the deadline expires. After sending orders, please make sure that I have sent an email indicating they have been received--I will ALWAYS do this, and usually very quickly.
There are several retreats this phase, due Wednesday 23:59 GMT. No orders received will result in the units being destroyed.

Sorry again for the inconvenience caused by my travel plans. This past weekend I visited the port city of Qingdao where they brew the Tsingtao beer and the site of a pre-WWI German garrison. It's a large city and the hotel I stayed at advertised internet access on their site. Upon arrival however I learned that both the advertised amenities AND the pictures on their site were not correct. It was with some difficulty I had my brother (himself a wargame fanatic and current expat in China) communicate with you via email. Sorry again for the problems and I hope for it not to happen in the future.
On other news we have our first NMR--Russia failed to submit a retreat order. Since the game was delayed already for so long I could not push it back further to request Russia's moves. I hope that this is just a one-time event.
I already have most Winter 1903 moves in so I'd like to have the deadline Monday 9th 23:59 GMT for Winter builds/disbands. Some of you might like to change your orders given the retreats so please take them into account. Thanks for your patience and sorry once more!

Meanwhile the French army group that landed in Wales last Spring invades London with support from their brothers at sea. British fleets continue the evacuation of the island and set sail for Norway which they wrest from Russian control. Elsewhere the German fleet that docked in Belgium during the Summer decides to extend their stay for the Winter.

Fall 1903 sees continued confusion in the Balkans as Austrian, Turkish and Russia troops vy for position. In the Mediterranean the Italian navy loses control of the strategic Ionian Sea to Turkish ships, while the French depart Italian waters for the Atlantic. Meanwhile the French army group that landed in Wales last Spring invades London with support from their brothers at sea. British fleets continue the evacuation of the island and set sail for Norway which they wrest from Russian control. Elsewhere the German fleet that docked in Belgium during the Summer decides to extend their stay for the Winter.
Deadline for Autumn 1903 Retreats is Thursday at 23:59 GMT. If both players respond quickly and are willing we can speed the retreats in order to get to Winter 1903.
Italian F Ionian Sea can retreat to Tyrrhenian Sea or Apulia or Adriatic Sea or Albania.
Russian A Norway can retreat to Finland or St Petersburg.
