DEADLINES & GRACE PERIODS
Deadlines are not suggestions. I will normally adjudicate any given turn within an hour or two of the deadline. There will be no automatic grace period for later orders with one exception: Orders and changes will not be counted as late if sent before I begin adjudication.
In the event I must miss a deadline by more than a couple hours I will notify everyone, and very likely set a new deadline for a later time.
I will also try to send a reminder at least 12 hours in advance for all deadlines. Be aware however that all players are still responsible for getting their orders to me on time even if I fail to send a reminder.
PHASES PER WEEK
Generally speaking I allow 5 days for Spring/Fall turns, 1 day for any necessary retreat turns, and 2 days for Builds/Disbands.
I will not normally set a deadline on a Weekend.
ORDERS
When I receive your orders I will send confirmation that I have gotten them. If you don't receive this acknowledgment from me then I probably haven’t received them and you should resubmit.
A unit must be issued an order for it to take any action. There are no implied orders!
You may change your orders as many times as you like before the deadline. Should you choose to change your orders please make sure to submit an order for each of your units. If I have multiple sets of orders from you by the time I begin adjudication I will use the most recent email that you have sent me. If that email does not contain a order for each of your units, those units not ordered will do nothing.
I will not be reviewing your orders before the deadline, so please make sure to review them for clarity before you send them. Any confusions or incorrect moves caused by unclear orders are the players fault and I will give no opportunity to fix them once I have begun adjudication.
UNIT DESIGNATIONS
Since there can only be one unit in a province at any given time, omitted or incorrect unit designations will not invalidate an order. But please try to be accurate.
MULTIPLE ORDERS FOR UNITS
If any particular unit is mentioned twice in an order list with contradictory orders, the last order instance for that unit will be selected for adjudication. Except when one order for a unit specifies the correct unit type and another specifies the incorrect unit type. The correct order with the correct unit type will take precedence. Example:
F London - English Channel
A London - Wales
The order F London - English Channel will be attempted and A London -
Wales will be voided.
NMR'S
I will not adjudicate with an NMR in the first year.
Players will have one NMR tolerated. In the event that a player does NMR that player must contact the GM within 48 hours of the results being posted to confirm that they will continue playing. If no reply is received I will immediately begin looking for a replacement before the next turn. If the offending player contacts me before I find a replacement he may be allowed to continue, but that decision is at my discretion.
A player who fails to submit orders a second time during the game will be removed immediately.
Failing to submit a Build or Retreat order not be counted an NMR and will not lead you to being removed from the game. However the player is required to contact me within 48HRs or I will begin to seek a replacement.
DRAWS AND OTHER PREMATURE TERMINATION
Players are free to propose an agreement to terminate the game at any time. According to the basic rules of Diplomacy this should result in a draw between all survivors. However I will accept any reasonable proposal. Approval requires a unanimous yes vote by all surviving Players (players may abstain and not affect the outcome of the vote). The vote will be cast by secret ballot. Results will be announced upon receipt of first "no" vote, a unanimous "yes" vote or upon expiration of deadline. The player who makes the proposition does not have to vote yes. Not voting before the deadline will be considered abstaining and will not affect the vote.
AMENDMENTS & CHANGES
The GM reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Changes will be made in cases requiring rules clarification. GM also reserves the right to put any issue to a vote of the remaining players. All votes must be unanimous to pass.
