Gentlemen,
It seems there was more than one confusion over the retreat season. I don't know what Nick's problem was, but Jim (Russia) was under the misapprehension that in Winter he could voluntarily disband units and rebuild them. That is, obviously, not the case, and he says that Warren finally explained that rule to him *after* the retreats.

Since it's Jim's first DC game, this is plausible ignorance, and I think that it would be a fair trade to approve both retreat do-overs. One helps Russia, one harms Russia, but both help the game to be played at the highest level. Could everybody agree to this?

I apologize for writing this myself; as a DC old-timer, I'm a bit more willing to challenge things than a newcomer would be. I was also the recipient of your good graces earlier in the game, and I think it's fair to extend that grace to others.

Best regards,
- Salim

Hi guys,

A few of you have expressed concern over my apparent NMR. There's no need to worry that I've abdicated - what happened was simply a misunderstanding between Warren and myself. He's offered to re-instate my army in Ruhr if it gets unanimous approval from the board, just like the replacement build Salim got when he joined the game. Obviously I'd prefer if you guys voted yes as I really did not intend to disband the army, but like before, it's your call and I won't be hunting down anyone who votes no. Wink

Best wishes to all (yes even you Mr. Czar),
-Nick

Hi folks,

No word from the German command, so his army turns in its guns and everyone goes home. The Russian fleet seeks shelter in Helgoland Bight. Fall will be due in just over a week, Monday October 4, 17:00 MDT.

See you all then.  Get your prelims in.
