Diplomats,

Fight on. We've officially outlived historical WW2...

Sadly, unlike last year, Stalin will not be able to outlive a presumptuous adjudication. The Turkish irregulars finally turned on their erstwhile ally, conquering Stalingrad without possible retreat into a supply center. Farewell, Stalin!

Of course, Karsten lives on with his healthy 5 center Republican Spain.

There are two retreats:

Italian A Serbia can retreat to Albania, Croatia, Bosnia or OTB.

Polish A Saxony can retreat to Berlin, Greater Poland or OTB.

Owing to the late adjudication, retreats and builds/disbands (which may be contingent on retreats) are due on Friday by our usual time. Sun, please make sure to submit a conditional disband in the event Robert retreats into Berlin.

Finally, we have two bits of player press! Thanks so much for making this such a lively press game.

Turkish Press:

After many years of supporting the Soviet experiment, the Turkish government failed to renew the defense budget that supported the Soviet cause. There are many Islamists in the secular Ataturk state that are uneasy using Turkish blood to defend godless Communists. Because of this potential vulnerability that the good people of Stalingrad might have experienced, the Kemalist state has notified the Politburo that it will be annexing the area to defend them against any intra-Slavic revenge.

Also, the good people of Belgrade booted out their fascist rulers and re-invited their Turkish brothers. The Balkans yearn for the peace that the not-so-distant past brought them when they were all under the Crescent flag.

The Turkish government has also signed on the peace proposal that will finally cease the senseless blood-letting that has ripped this continent apart. Peace is in the air.

USSR Press:
-Last Ride of the Cossacks-

Found on the last page in an officer's diary after the fall of Stalingrad:

23. November 1945
Red is the flag of the Soviet revolution, white is the color of the endless snow.
Today, we will ride one last time! The blazing guns of the Polish-Baltic Alliance will tear apart the frozen silence, but the beating of our hearts will be louder. The enemies numbers are sheer endless, but the stories told about our last ride will be without number. They will shatter our bones, they will tear away flesh, they will crush our last assault. Yet they cannot destroy the spirit, that we hold true in our hearts
White will be the last flag of the Soviet Revolution, red will be the color of the endless snow...

Diplomacy games may contain lying, stabbing, or deliberately deceiving communications that may not be suitable for and may pose a hazard to young children, gullible adults, and small farm animals.
