now theres an interesting discussion point and diplomacy in the real world- what has been the French and German political objective since WW2? A european state- common market, NATO, euro all steps on that path, but the stumbling block has remained the national identities of the states/kingdoms etc within europe- the spanish dont want to be run by the germans etc etc.....along comes the recession and what a fantastic opportunity to force those bankrupt states into more dependency giving up their sovereignty further......so within a few years you will see the United states of europe, excluding us Brits of course
