Thank you all for a very interesting and enjoyable game, especially Mike for all his time and effort. This was my first Haven game and I felt I was fortunate to draw the Pirate position. Things started well except that the Nomads were insistent about taking Neverpeak Mtn and I think the Tom(Archers) encouraged them in order to keep them out of Duloc. So I forged an alliance with the Hobbits and Wizards and moved north in an effort to keep the Nomads from establishing a strong center. I was hopeful that after removing the Nomads from the area I could reach an agreement with the Archer/Gnome alliance, but alas this proved futile because the disarray in the north allowed the Archer/Gnome alliance to move south in force. It was all I could do to hold them back while I tried to get help. By this time the Barbarians and Faeries were both in trouble and were not able to take much pressure off me. However my alliance with the Wizards and Hobbits was strong and they were both in a position and promised to bring some help north. That hope ended with the Hobbit stab of the Wizards, and while Derek’s stab was a tactical masterpiece, I believe strategically it was his (and my) undoing. BTW Warren I was not complicit in Derek’s stab, but after it was done I had no choice but to continue working with Derek, as he was my only hope for immediate help against the Archer/Gnomes. Then when Garry’s Elves stabbed the Hobbits my fate was sealed, but I fought on as best I could. Couple of closing thoughts. Even though they were my nemesis, Tom (Archers) and Timmy(Gnomes) both did a great job with cooperating within their alliance. I enjoyed working with Warren and Derek. And Rolfs recovering from what I thought was a sure death was remarkable. Thanks again to all for a great experience and I hope to engage you all again soon! Jim G

Subject: dc442 s25 results - DRAW! There you have it! 24.5 years played, 4-way LEAK draw. Tim of the Gnomes and Pat of the Dwarves manage survivals. 483 days. It's the longest Haven game ever (by turns)... previous was dc224 at 20.5 years... but shorter in real life time, as dc224 took 575 days to do those 20 years... about 100 days longer! This game falls shy of any "overall" records, as dc92 cleanly retains both, for a game that went 36 years over 595 days. I think this game comes in at 3rd overall, behind dc92 at 36 years and dc122 at 29 years. EOG's are expected from all! Next we're heading to Disney World in about 3 weeks... After the return from that, I'll start up the next Haven.
Might open it before, and let it gather joins up until it starts.Enjoy!!-mike
